An IT worker shares his hilarious experience with a coworker who calls him daily for what he describes as issues that aren’t real problems.
Helping others when they need it is a kind act, but not everyone shows the same level of enthusiasm when it comes to stepping in to bail someone out. While some people genuinely need assistance, others are too lazy to learn from their past mistakes. A man faces this every day when his office co-worker dials him for one issue or another. The IT expert and tech geek—who goes by @dailypodclips3 on TikTok—recently opened up about a hilarious request from a colleague who calls him every day. The employee claimed she was in a “helpless” state because her computer had “frozen” while she was working.
A widely circulating video showed the telephonic conversation between the desperate co-worker and the tech support provider. The former’s struggle to fix her computer system led her to call the office’s IT desk. The man on the other end of the line was amused when his colleague simply uttered the word “help.” He seemingly controlled his laughter before responding, “Hello! With what?” "We all have these coworkers," read the text overlay in the video, followed by a facepalm emoji. A secondary overlay, likely sarcastic, stated, “I love IT.” The employee was then asked by the coworker to come downstairs.
“Can you come down?” the woman who initiated the call asked. Before obliging, the tech expert sought more clarity on the issue. While seeking an explanation, the IT support worker asked, “Well, what's going on?” The colleague, still facing the same issue, claimed she wasn’t aware of the exact problem, but her “system froze.”
“I don't know. I think my computer froze,” she said, her soft laughter audible during the conversation. As part of the solution, the IT support provider advised his co-worker to “just restart (the system).” The IT expert was surprised that his co-worker hadn’t attempted a fresh start on her own.
However, the co-worker continued to insist she had no way of doing so. “I can't. I tried doing everything ... but it won't let me—it froze,” she reiterated in the nearly 40-second footage. “You can just hold the power button?” the IT assistant suggested. The staff member later admitted she hadn’t thought of that.
Attempting to excuse herself from the conversation that was going nowhere, she told the IT expert, “OK, I'll do that.” Following this, the latter explained the steps to shut down the system. “Hold it for like—it’s gonna take like 30 seconds,” he instructed. At this point, the co-worker, trying hard to end the call, simply said goodbye.
Afterward, the IT assistant explained that the woman on the line was a repeat offender. While trying to control his frustration, the tech expert remarked, “That lady calls every single day. Problems that aren’t problems make me go downstairs—oh my Lord. I. Love. Her.” Through the caption, he added, “We all have that helpless coworker. But she keeps me busy.”
The video gained widespread attention on social media, receiving around 678.1K views and 47.9K likes. Among the reactions, @oogali.boogali remarked, “I once told a coworker to restart her computer, and all she did was turn the monitor on and off.” “I have someone who has over 700 tickets, LOL,” @thewingedpotato added.
