'His wife threw a FIT when he arrived home and made him pack his bags,' t said

Watching a grown man instruct his child to kick over a neighbor's trash can says a lot about his character. However, for a Reddit user, this was simply the latest gesture in a long string of provocations from her neighbor. The woman, who lives in a small town within a predominantly Mormon area with her little sister, took to Reddit eight years ago to detail how her bully neighbor crossed the line. Although she didn't physically confront the man, she did have the last laugh in this battle between the neighbors.
The tension had been building for some time, with the neighbor repeating small incidents that made it clear the woman was being singled out. Things escalated after they got her a cat. The neighbor reportedly claimed the cat was not allowed on “his” side of the road and even went as far as calling animal control when it was seen on the sidewalk. When that didn’t work, he allegedly took the cat to a shelter, pretended it was his, and asked for it to be put down. On the day the neighbors moved in, the younger sister had tried to welcome them with brownies, only to later see the man throw the treats, plate and all, into the trash while looking directly at her.
Following the latest provocation by her neighbor, the woman decided to vent out her frustration to an unknown person. This prompted her to search for pen pals nearby, and a few dodgy websites later, she ended up on a site where you could be pen pals with an inmate. Of course, she didn't want a criminal to know her actual address, so, jokingly, she decided to mention her neighbor's address and name on the letter.

"More out of curiosity than malice, I proceeded to write a very detailed letter about how I am a trapped, secretly gay Mormon man with ten kids who is looking to start an extramarital affair with a prisoner," the woman wrote.
She proceeded to click send and didn't think much of it, as most of us probably wouldn't. However, she was wrong. As it turns out, just a few days later, the inmate wrote back. But what he wrote didn't matter, as this wasn't the first time the man had tried to initiate a extra martial affair with a man. "Apparently, one of the neighbor’s kids had brought in the mail, only for HIS WIFE to find it and read the letter from this prisoner responding to the joke letter that I wrote," the woman revealed.

"I don’t know the specifics of the letter, but I do know that his wife threw a FIT when he arrived home and made him pack his bags," she continued. "My acquaintance informed me that this was not the first time Neighbor had started or tried to start an affair with another man, and apparently, this was the last straw for her." Although the author didn't intend to, she seemingly did end her terrible neighbor's marriage.

The story has drawn an array of reactions from the internet. "If it’s not the first time he tried to have an affair with another man, you helped his wife out a ton," u/Gagooon wrote. "At first: That's a bit harsh, wow. Then I read the things he actually did, he tried to put down your sister's cat? Just because he doesn't like you/is against you because you're not Mormon? Yeah, screw that dude. Messing with pets is a no," u/Nox_Stripes wrote.
