Eight years ago, Emonee LaRussa (@em0n33y on Instagram) was just starting out as an artist with little more than determination and a dream. She didn’t have much money, but she had a boyfriend who refused to let that stop her. In a video she shared that gained a whopping 33.2 million views and almost 2 million likes, she showed the small setup her boyfriend had gotten her, and where her journey began. "Look at this table. Look at this chair. I love this," she says, pointing to the setup where her laptop and monitor once sat; it was everything she needed back then. "Before my career, before I had anything, he believed in me and took care of me," she wrote.

Now, years later, her art career has grown enough to give her the chance to do something she had been waiting for: to give back. In the video’s second half, she leads him to a parking lot where a sleek new car awaits with a red bow on top. "So now I’m working to make every single one of his dreams come true," she shared,  "He deserves it and more. He is truly the most thoughtful, more intentional person I’ve ever met in my whole life. Almost every decision he makes, he does with the thought of how it would make my life better."

She explained that he has been by her side through her toughest battles. "Every single year, I love him even more. I don’t even know how that’s possible to love someone so much," she said. Stories like hers echo what researchers have found about the power of supportive relationships. A Cornell University study published in Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin discovered that people with supportive partners were more likely to pursue meaningful challenges, leading to greater personal growth, stronger well-being, and healthier relationships. In other words, when someone believes in you before the world does, it can change the entire trajectory of your life.

The post struck a chord with people who know how rare it is to have a partner so devoted. @matthewolivierx commented, "The ultimate why. And it moves entire worlds. Congratulations on this success." @heesanchungtt said, "Ahhh, my boyfriend is like that too! He was the one who encouraged me to start this account. He bought me a graphic tablet and a normal tablet. Every day, I get depressed about not getting likes, but he keeps encouraging me to continue posting more and reminds me that I will eventually reach my goal. I’m so glad to have him." @pric508 added, "You know it’s true love when you’ll support someone’s dream and will always be there for them no matter what."

@godtaughtartist chimed in, "I can’t wait for this moment to pour back into my husband. It’s such a blessing to have a partner who believes in your vision and dreams." @soyrnilk shared, "This is literally my dream and goal!!! To be able to give back to my husband the luxuries he deserves. I'm so happy for both of you." @_b_jaquez quipped, "That's how it's supposed to be. We water each other."
