Based on the lunisolar calendar this year, the Chinese New Year fell on February 10, marking the year of the dragon. Being one of the most important celebrations in China and other Asian countries, the 15-day Lunar New Year celebrations are full of vim and vigor as people celebrate the festival with their loved ones. This hawker couple from Singapore wished to spend the day with their children and grandchildren, but distance didn't favor them. However, their son Junjie Teo–who goes by @teojuju on TikTok–and daughter planned a wholesome surprise for them and a video of it has touched many hearts online.

Teo's sister and her kids lived in Indonesia and decided to surprise her parents in Singapore on the Lunar New Year. As the video began, Teo's mom and dad can be seen going on about their day, casually cleaning and setting up their drinks stall. That is when they saw their daughter and her two children walking towards them. For a moment, Teo's mom was in pure shock while his dad dropped everything he was doing to go and hug his grandkids. The excitement on the parents' faces was priceless as they didn't expect to see them at all. "This was after months of planning, so they probably gave up hope that they would see their grandkids," read the text overlay.

The little kids were equally excited about meeting their grandparents after so long. "It was definitely worth the wait," wrote Teo and revealed that his dad teared up instantly on having his entire family for the festival. The grandfather ran into the shop to grab a drink and offered it to his grandchildren. The entire family shared a few wholesome minutes expressing their love for each other. Teo mentioned that this was the scene he and his sister had "exactly envisioned." "Nothing beats celebrating CNY with the whole family," wrote Teo and the video proved why. At one point, Teo's sister broke into tears, seeing her kids bond with their grandparents.

Speaking to Mothership about this heartwarming video, Teo said, "I feel very thankful that we get to reunite as a family for CNY. As we grow older, we start to realize that these are the things that bring real joy." He pointed out that he and his sister had been trying to work out this plan since last October. "My parents especially, they work so hard for us, they have never needed us to do anything for them. And to do this small little surprise, knowing that this is all they ever wanted, was good enough," the son said.

With over a million views, this video had the internet crying happy tears. "It is the ah gong (grandfather) that gives the ice lemon tea that looks even more lovely!" commented @guantehgong. "Nothing else in the world would bring such joy," wrote @gck751. "This sets as a reminder for others to visit their families as well. Wishing your family a very happy new year," commented @lisaintann. "And the current generation will ask why we need to have children. Just look at that priceless joy," wrote @dancer.in.space.
