A video from hairstylist Beth Lunn (@honeylunnhair) is making rounds on the internet after she discovered her client was pregnant, and everyone has the same question. 'How did she know?' Lunn's video was meant for content for her Instagram page, but she captured an unbelievable moment between her and her client. Three days after she shared the video, it reached 126 million views and 3.9 million likes. Lunn was examining her client's hair when she noticed something unusual.  Lunn's next question shocked the client so much that they had to cut the video.

Lunn was checking on Chanelle Adams' hair, moving a piece up and down. Adams, concerned after seeing Lunn's reaction, asked if anything was wrong. Lunn did not answer, but picked another piece of hair to examine. After a few seconds, Lunn looked at Adams in the mirror and asked her, "Are you pregnant?" Adams laughed nervously, saying, "What? Why?" Lunn reiterated her question, but Adams kept repeating, "Why?" After a few times, Lunn just looked at her client, who stuck her tongue out, saying, "Not in the video," and Lunn turned off the recording.

People in the comments were surprised how Lunn could tell Adams was pregnant just by looking at her hair. The video went viral, and so many questions poured in that Lunn had to make a video addressing them. In another video, Lunn shared a few photos of a client who was 5 months postpartum. She explained that it can vary from person to person, but the science behind it is, "hormonal change causes an increase in estrogen and progesterone, which can alter the hair's pigment (melanin)." She added that there is no "scientific evidence" that coloring one's hair while pregnant can cause harm to the child, but it is up to the client, since results might vary for this reason.

According to the NHS, the majority of research shows that dyeing one's hair while pregnant is quite safe. It only becomes harmful when the pregnant woman is exposed to chemicals present in permanent and semi-permanent dyes in high doses. Although it is recommended for the pregnant mother to wait till after the first 12 weeks to dye their hair. The color may react or show differently on the hair of mothers who are in their second or third trimester.

People in the comments were extremely impressed by how quickly Lunn realized her client was pregnant. @nicole.marie44 shared, "Your hair tells you so much about your health! She probably saw banding in her hair, and that is common with pregnancy." @asmaiel_soulvane added, "If she could tell someone is pregnant from their hair. She's worth the money hands down."
