Applying for a leave request at your workplace feels like a daunting task. Most likely, you will receive rejections for the same. But what will happen if someone applies for leave at the workplace where they don't even work? This man did something similar in a hilarious video. In a prank call, Nate Stone–who goes by @CanadianChestHair on YouTube–effortlessly pretends to be an employee of the store, weaving a tale so absurd that even the most seasoned pranksters would be impressed. In the video, he called the store pretending to be "Jordan," asking for leave to go fishing with his friends.

"Hi, this is Jordan calling. I just started there last week and it's really nice and stuff, but some of the boys are going out fishing tomorrow, so I'm not going to be able to make it in for my shift." Jordan sounds casual as if he is calling an old friend, except he is trying to convince a complete stranger to let him off work for a fishing trip. On the other end of the line, Sylvia, the assistant manager, is about to have her patience tested. She doesn't recognize the name, so she does what any diligent manager would do she asks for clarification. "Your first name was Jordan?" she asks, sounding suspicious. When Jordan confirms, she quickly shuts down his plan, saying, "I'm going to tell you right now, it's going to be an unapproved absence."

But Jordan is not giving up that easily. He pivots, trying a different tactic. "Well, I'm not actually sick," he admits, with a hint of honesty that only adds to the situation's absurdity. "I just need a day off to go fishing 'cause it's so nice." While maintaining her professionalism, Sylvia explains that fishing isn't exactly a legitimate reason to miss work. Jordan tries again, "What would be a good excuse? Could you just write something down for me?" The sheer audacity of asking for help while crafting a fake excuse is what makes this prank so priceless.

Sylvia stays calm and informs Jordan that she's the assistant manager, possibly the person who would have to deal with him if he skips work. Still not fully understanding the gravity of his fake request, Jordan asks, "So I can't go fishing?" "No, you can't go fishing," Sylvia replies, undoubtedly wondering how this conversation has gone so far off the rails. But Jordan isn't done yet. "It's just so nice out," he adds, hoping to change her mind. As the conversation nears its end, Sylvia lays down the final verdict. If Jordan doesn't show up for his nonexistent shift, it will be an unapproved absence and could lead to a written discipline. Upon realizing his fishing dreams have officially sunk, Jordan wraps up the call saying, "Okay, thanks. Bye."

Stone's video went viral, garnering over 13m million views. People on the platform enjoyed his funny prank and tried to predict how the manager would respond at work once she reached his shift. "100% she was asking everyone that day, 'Have you seen Jordan?' Lol, too funny," said @ufcBamafan. "This video is truly a gem! The idea of manufacturing a silly confrontation where you're not wrong will always be funny," commented @SkuIIKn1ght. "To be honest, I don't usually like pranks. But this had me dying. You played it so perfectly. Legit one of the funniest YouTube videos," added @stevePHXD.
