A man’s unique way of celebrating his relationship went viral after he shared a TikTok video detailing how he spent nearly a decade collecting the amusing and unintentional quotes of his fiancée. Known as @are.knot on TikTok, Adam Arnaout explained that for 2,857 days — just over eight years — he kept a running list he calls "The Notes," documenting her quirky sayings and moments that made him laugh. Posted on July 8, the video has gained a whopping 11.2 million views and 1.5 million likes.

The video opens with Arnaout recalling a simple but memorable exchange, "I once told you, 'I love you,' and you said, 'I love chicken nuggets.'" This unexpected reply perfectly captures the playful dynamic between the couple, a pattern that repeats in his notes. He further stated how his fiancée once swore that every chive cream cheese contained white fish, a belief that clearly stuck with him. Another time, she excitedly told a friend to make sure they brought them to the "show where you win music," not realizing the correct term was "the Grammys."

He further said, "You once asked me if waterboarding was hard, saying that you’d like to try it…That’s called wakeboarding." He also recalled how she proudly declared herself a cinematographer while eating a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Sharing another incident, he said, "You pointed at my toothpick and said, 'That’s a nice pitchfork.'" He even recalled a time when she saw a truck full of firefighters and said, "Oh! The fire extinguishers are here."

These snippets reveal a relationship filled with laughter and affection, with the man celebrating his fiancée’s authentic self, and that tells how humor can keep a relationship alive. A study published in The Journal of Psychology examined 154 participants, and found that those with higher relationship satisfaction used more positive humor and less negative or avoiding humor overall. In conflict situations, negative and avoiding humor were used less frequently.

@are.knot Replying to @Becks I've got enough of these written down to go for a VERY long time #vows #marriage #couples #wedding #2025wedding #2025bride #groom #fyp @sid_sterling ♬ original sound - Adam Arnaout

With countless viewers requesting it to be a series, Arnaout released more parts of "The Notes" on his TikTok. A standout in one video was her claim that someone was a "chronological liar" because "they keep lying right after each other." He also shared a clip in which she said she had "moisturized her breath" after using mouthwash. When he looked confused, she explained, "Using mouthwash is technically like moisturizer. You’re hydrating your mouth and moisturizing your breath."

The internet, of course, loved it. @hotchic1974 wrote, "He is a green flag. This was a lot of work for 8 years. He knew she was the one." @spicy_victims_unit added, "To spend YEARS of your life documenting what your partner says solely because it brings you joy is actual love." @xstaceyrae said, "Being loved is being seen. He kept and wrote down everything that made him laugh and got him to this day. If someone ever said, ‘remember that time you said this, yeah, that has never left my mind, it was so funny,’ I would crumble."

@manab0t noted, "What I’m seeing is she’s safe to be authentic & slightly unhinged and you celebrate her authenticity, wishing you decades of shared deep belly laughs.” @acrawford048 commented, "To be fair, we (firefighters) are technically fire extinguishers. I’ll use it from now on."
