Ryan Gosling's "I'm Just Ken" became as popular as the blockbuster movie "Barbie." The song proved as an emotional arc for the character and dismantled toxic masculinity. So, a groom also decided to perform his own version of the song at his wedding with a special twist. He wanted to surprise his wife with a parody of the song called, "I'm Just a Groom." The wedding photographer, Lex Nielsen—who goes by @lexnielsen TikTok—shared the hilarious yet adorable video with everyone.

The video begins with the groom revealing how he got to know that the bride would really love it if he performed a song for her, sometime during the wedding day. He hilariously hints at how his mother "didn't raise no fool." The groom also adds, "So. I'm not about to upset my wife, like 30 minutes into being married." It then cuts to reveal him sitting on the chair, now wearing a pink hat and singing the first few lines of the popular song. The bride is sitting away from him and looks at her husband with a lot of anticipation and love.

He utilizes the lyrics of the song to hilariously hint how nobody in the wedding notices the groom and cares for him. The groom's ingenious lyrics get a lot of laughter from the audience members. We then get to hear him express how his bride is the boss and then the musical accompaniment kicks in, at which point, the groom is in full form with his performance. All of the bridesmen and groomsmen can be seen standing right behind him, dancing to the song. They occasionally chime in with their chorus to give the entire rendition a bit more of a powerful feeling.

The video concludes with the groom pulling the bride onto her feet and then kneeling next to her as he sings the last lines of the song. People absolutely loved the parody of the song and shared their thoughts about it in the comments section. @mmmorganj said, "So many parodies are bad because they try to shoehorn syllables or don't get the rhyming right. But this? This is glorious, glorious Kenergy." @bbarnesss commented, "I need a professional studio version so my man can walk down the aisle to this." @vikilecollado suggested, "Tell your future children this was Ryan Gosling’s Oscar performance."

Gosling's performance during the entire movie was widely celebrated. However, both of his daughters, Esmeralda and Amanda, seemed confused about his role in the movie. He spoke to the New York Times and said, "Barbie landed in my house at the same time as the script. What was interesting to me was that my kids don't just brush their hair and dress them up. None of them have names that are Barbie. They all have complicated backstories, lives, relationships, hopes, dreams. It's incredible how intricate the world is that they've created."

When they learned about the role that he would be playing, they asked, "Why Ken?" simply because the girls did not refer to their dolls as "Barbie and Ken." Gosling explained, "They don't even call him Ken. One of them is named Darrell. And Darrell works at a grocery store. One of the Barbies' names is Gym Class. And Gym Class met Darrell at the grocery store, but Gym Class, she's focusing on herself right now."
