Groom fights back tears while reciting his heartfelt wedding vows: 'You make me feel liked'

Marriage vows often make up for one of the most crucial speeches in a person’s life. It is a rendition packed with emotion, memories, tear-jerking experiences and promises. Similarly, Libby Lamont–who goes by @libbylamont on TikTok–shared her precious husband’s vows as the couple made their first wedding anniversary recently. The lengthy vows have people bawling in tears, awestruck by the couple’s relationship. Lamont regards the same as the “greatest vows of all time.” The man began with teary eyes, struggling to let words out. He shared a scene from a TV show. “I can’t believe I’m quoting a 90s sitcom with a semi-cancelled lead star,” he began. 

“I take you for more than my wife. I take you for everything you are because I love everything that you are,” he exclaimed. The husband continued fighting his tears and in a cracked voice, pointed out how Lamont always knew what he needed. He shared an example regarding his interview where he needed “serious reassurance.” “I would ask you 15 to 20 times a day, ‘Do you think I’ll get this?’ You would calmly answer ‘Yes,’ as if it were the first time I asked,” the man recalled. “Your faith in me gave me faith in myself,” he added. Recalling several other nostalgic moments in the vows, he shared how Lamont had been there every single time. 

“On one of our first dates, we planned to stop at Malibu. We ended up having dinner in Santa Barbara two and half hours away because I wanted the night to go longer with you,” he mentioned. He further listed the qualities of his partner that had him mesmerized and grateful. “You make traffic on the 101 fun. Everything is fun with you. You are so patient!’ he exclaimed, leading the crowd to burst into laughter. Adding to the speech, he shared how Lamont endearingly handled his impulsive Laker’s games obsession. “You’ve shown me how a true die-hard fan should act,’” he said. Also, while connecting his words to the game, he said, “Whether I’m winning or losing, you are right by my side. You’re the best teammate anyone could ever ask for.”

The husband continued to sing Lamont’s praises, citing all her qualities. “You text me to let me know you miss me. You have no idea how much that means,” he remarked. He explained that as an insecure person, he finds it hard to understand whether people like him. “You don’t make me feel loved every day. You make me feel liked,” he exclaimed. He pointed out how his partner cherished him for who he was with all his flaws and imperfections. “I never have to be someone I’m not. You push me to be better but never to be someone I’m not,” he added.

In conclusion, he quoted a dialogue from a TV show. He said, “I feel sorry for anyone not marrying you. I don’t know how they wake up in the morning. I love you, I like you and I choose you every day for the rest of my life.” Leaving people in tears even after a year made it clear how heartfelt the speech was. @taytoye said, “Libby, your husband’s vows convince me you are the greatest person in the world,” @jujithetired wrote, “He is wonderful.
