Imagine peeling bananas your whole life, thinking you're an absolute expert at it. But what if someone told you that you're doing it all wrong? What if there’s actually a "proper" way to peel a banana, and you’ve been clueless about it? Sounds absurd, right? Well, a stay-at-home mom named Gladis—who goes by @torres_2188 on TikTok—caught attention after revealing the "right" way to peel bananas. As the text overlay read, "You definitely didn't know this!" Gladis grabbed a bunch of bananas from the grocery store to share a game-changing banana peeling hack.

According to the content creator, the trick is to peel bananas from the black end, keeping the stem completely untouched and intact.Gladis first gave the black end of the fruit a slight squeeze, then firmly gripped one portion, tearing it just enough to begin peeling. Urging people to try the hack, Gladis wrote, "Now you know how to do it" in the caption. The video quickly went viral on social media, with countless people reacting to the mind-blowing hack.

For instance, @coney.island.phot wrote, "That’s a waste of time, it’s easier the other way." @davidjohnson8706 commented, "I’m questioning everything I have done for the past 51 years!" Meanwhile, @me.la.rifo added, "I always struggle with the way I learned, lol! Today, I can say I learned a great hack!" @angelwings931 shared, "So, you end up squishing it anyway! Lol!"

On the other hand, @justbcur, who already knew about the hack, commented, "Ever since I saw a monkey doing this, I started about 10 years ago." Likewise, @user8023849059468 chimed in, "My sister-in-law showed us years ago, definitely easier!" @rosiepo5619 pointed out, "My grandson would not like the squished end."

The stay-at-home mom, known for sharing lifestyle hacks online, posted another video offering a simple solution for removing hair stuck in the basin. In the now-popular video, Gladis used a green straw, punctured small holes at the tip to help the hair cling to it, and then moved it across the sink. In the same video, Gladis shared another trick to keep bathrooms odor-free. She took a sanitary pad, poured some liquid—possibly detergent—over it, and placed it at the side of the toilet.

Meanwhile, for people struggling with stubborn strains on plastic containers, Ariganja (@ariganja) shared a brilliant hack she learned from her friend's grandmother to remove stains. At first, she showed her stained plastic container, which she had properly cleaned, which still looked orange-tinted. Ariganja then filled the container halfway with hot water and added a dash of dish soap. She tore a paper towel into pieces and put the pieces in the box as well. She then closed the lid and shook the container well. In a few minutes, she shared how the plastic container was transformed into sparkling clean and brand new. Appreciating her friend's grandmother for the amazing hack, Ariganja wrote, "Best hack I was ever taught," in the caption.
