Being a mother is not a cakewalk by any means. Moms are never off duty and do not have anything called retirement. The job is particularly challenging for young moms, who are required to focus on their babies 24/7, often at the cost of their own well-being. But a grandma is out here on social media, giving some expert advice to remind young moms that they need to cherish every moment of their lives. Torchy Swinson, a grandmother to five and a great-grandmother to six (@torchyswinson2 on TikTok), made an insightful video for young moms.

"I was gonna tell you something," Swinson says in the video. "I've done this before but I will do it again. It's 6:00. You're in the kitchen. You're making Hamburger Helper. Your husband just got home from work. You hear him in the living room with the kids. They're playing and laughing. They're giggling. Makes your heart feel good. You don't know it yet but this just might be one of the best days of your life." Swinson is surely talking from experience after raising a family of her own. She went ahead to film a second video to address young mothers once again.

"I was gonna tell you something. I just realized I've reached the last years of my life," Swinson says in her second video. Then, she echoed the thoughts of young mothers who believed they would be happier once their kids were out of diapers or when they started school or out of school. "I wasted so much time on that," Swinson admitted, adding how she also mused about how she would be glad when a certain phase of her life was over and she could retire.

"If I could tell you one thing and I'm not trying to be that old wise woman giving you advice, but if I could tell you one thing, don't postpone joy. Find your joy in what's happening today 'cause that's where it lies," Swinson said, concluding her video. The TikTok community could resonate with Swinson's words deeply and many left heartfelt comments under her videos. @megsvande17 recalled, "I remember eating Hamburger Helper as a kid made by my momma and my daddy dumping ranch-style beans on top of it with cheese while talking to us about our day. I miss those days. I love this."

@relleybee_xo lamented, "My husband is in prison in Florida. He left me and our two-year-old and got himself into trouble. I'm all alone raising my two kids and wondering if happiness will happen for me." @jacidiane quipped, "I followed you when you made this the first time and just cried listening to it again. You really helped me keep my mind focused on enjoying this time with my family. And you sound so similar to my grandma. I have so much love for you, Torchy." @coreysmom4ever32 added, "Since my son passed away two years ago, I reminisce a lot about the old days and regret how little I appreciated how blessed we were."
