The woman shared a heartwarming message with a student preparing for the GRE, and four years later, her sister is also benefiting from it.
Any person appearing for a standardized test would agree that they could use all the motivation they can get. However, different sources of motivation work best for different people. Similarly, Helena—who goes by @helenabobene on TikTok—is about to appear for a GRE and has found motivation in the most unexpected place. "My sister took an exam four years ago and she still has this voicemail saved from the testing center when they called the day before. Please wait for the best part..." Helena shared.
"I'm taking an exam this week and literally listen to this every night as my motivation before I go to sleep," she revealed. A GRE worker called Tameka shared the voice note, which can fill any woman with courage. The extra step the test center worker went through also brings home the true spirit of girlhood. Helena played the voice clip her sister shared to help her with her stress. It says, "Giving you a courtesy call for your GRE that's tomorrow at 12."
She gave general instructions at first, "Know that you can arrive 45 minutes early—if you come early, we start you early. Make sure you have a valid driver's license, ID or passport. Make sure that you come with a sweater or a fleece just in case the testing center is chilly and just come confident and well-prepared." However, after that, the voice note took a turn. Helena expressed, "I'm not a crier, but I swear I cry every time I listen to this." The voice note says, "Miss Amelia, this is what you studied for. This is what you worked hard for. Bring your best girl confidence. Bring your best girl magic. It's called girl power. Girl power is the best power. Ain't nothing better than that."
"So put in your head that this is what you want. Don't come nervous because when you have to do something for work, you're not nervous," the employee continued. "But when you study for something, I just feel like people are more nervous when they study, to get prepared, then you walk into work and work is unpredictable and y'all are ready for work. You know what I'm saying?"
"Just come the same way as if you were coming for work. Just come confident, come prepared and just tell yourself, 'I worked hard for this,'" the woman encouraged. "Other than that honey, I will see you tomorrow in the afternoon and come with a smile because I'll have one already. Have a great evening," the voice not concluded. Helena included a request for people to help her find Tameka. She wrote, "Please help me find this woman!!! She would have lived in Boston in 2019/2020 and worked at a standardized testing center."

Helena shared an update on when she connected with Tameka on the phone. She also told her how her voice note had helped her. Tameka said, "You made my day, thank you." People took to the comments to recognize Tameka's thoughtful action. @coddy309 shared, "I 100% met this woman when I took a test at this center in Boston in 2021! She gave me the same pep talk in person and was such a sweetheart!" @_erin.nicole_ wrote, "This woman's call may be the only form of support some people have before their test. Literally crying." @Icgenx79 remarked, "How many calls did she make? This was not a prepared speech! This is straight from the heart."
