Very few people can say that their 'love conquers death.' In a Reddit post, one user posted a photo of a love note written by their late grandfather for his wife right before he passed. The grandmother only found the note after her husband passed away, exactly as he had intended.

While writing the note, the grandfather made sure his wife would see it, so he attached it to his will. The author explained, "This is the last note my grandfather left my grandma before he died. He attached it to his will because he knew that'd [be] the only time she would find it." The sweet note was clipped to the will, and it reads, "This I will remember when the rest of life is through: The finest thing I've ever done is simply loving you."

The art of letter writing is gradually disappearing with the older generation. How different would the message feel if the grandfather had written it in a text message rather than writing it by hand? A handwritten letter or note carries more meaning than a text message because it shows the writer's intent. It also shows effort because the person decided to grab a pen and paper and pen down their thoughts.

Siena Rodrigues, a psychology and neuroscience major, had been writing letters even before she joined preschool, and continues to write to this day. She explained what writing letters means to her: "Sitting down with a piece of paper and pen, you come with an intention of 'I'm not only going to think these thoughts or tell you these thoughts, but I’m going to write them down.'

The power of that physical act makes it more personal rather than a thought." Rodrigues' boyfriend told her he loved her for the first time in a letter. She explained what that meant to her: "Holding that documentation of exactly when somebody told you they love you is amazing. We may remember the conversation, but there’s nothing like having a definitive piece of paper to capture that moment and your feelings."

People in the comments were gushing after reading the grandfather's love note for his wife. Many wished they would find and be blessed with a similar kind of love. u/Hungry_Boi_Jamez commented, "I can’t wait to have love like this. Thanks for giving me hope." u/MissAtomic51 made them realize how important love is. They wrote, "In the middle of a silly argument with my husband. We’ve been avoiding each other all morning. Gonna go hug him now!"
