Reunions are beautiful to watch and when it is of two elderly people, it becomes even more special. Lucy Shepherd–who goes by @shepsadventures97 on TikTok–shared a video of her grandmother waiting outside her best friend's house. The text overlay read, "My nan surprising her best friend of 88 years, who she hasn't seen since before Covid." The granny was seen wearing a white and blue T-shirt with white pants and a white hat, excited to meet her friend.

In the video, the elderly woman knocks on the door as Lucy tells her, "She is going to be surprised." In response, the senior says: "I hope so." Although the duo initially seemed a bit concerned about whether the elderly woman's friend was home, someone was soon seen coming to the door. Lucy said, "She is in, look." The granny started to smile seeing her friend opening the door and then exclaimed to her best friend, "Surprise! Surprise!

Her friend also could not hold back her excitement and said, "Oh God! Oh God!" Then the grandmom asked, "Is this old people's home?" and her friend replied, "Yes." Lucy's Nan told her, "Well then, I'm coming in because I'm a bit old." In the next scene, the two old friends are seen sitting on a couch holding each other's hand while one reflected on how they became friends. "So we became friends, so that must have been... when we were six." The best friend added, "88 years." The granny reacted to it by saying, "That's not bad."

The granddaughter said, "88 years and you are still friends." At this, the elderly friend expressed, "That's not bad to go back, is it really?" The grandmom replied, "I don't think so." They laughed together and in the end, the two were seen crying after hugging each other. The heart-warming video was captioned, "Made me cry seeing them both so happy and when they said goodbye, they cried as they do not know whether they will see each other again."

Omg, they look so good. I would say she looks almost a decade younger."

@yb.est17 shared, "My heart! True friendship is something every person deserves in this life." @shelby.baker wrote, "My granny had a best friend, Liz. They didn't get to see each other often but would always call. Their giggles still ring in my head once in a while. Now Liz is my best friend after my granny passed." @imaa2022 wished, "That's really a very old age. I hope they are both healthy and can visit each other for many years to come." Moments like these make people believe in friendships and true relationships.
