Living to 100 years is surely something to be celebrated, and this grandma recalling her age shows how she embraces life.
Not many in this world are lucky enough to hit the century in their lives. Just to imagine blowing out 100 candles on your birthday cake is a far-fetched dream. But living to 100 isn't only about flaunting how many years you have added to your life but also about how much life you have added to your years. It's 36500 days of learning, growing and enjoying life experiences! In May 2023, Chelsea Dornan–who goes by @wellbeingwithchelsea on Instagram–recorded her grandma's reaction on being told she was turning 100. Her adorable response went viral with over 30 million views so far.
In the video, Dornan tells her Grandma that she will soon celebrate her centenary. Shocked by the revelation, the grandma wondered what year it was and, upon knowing it was 2023, she exclaimed, "I was born in '23 100 years ago?! Son of a gun!" She then pointed out that she "didn't feel 100" at all. When the granddaughter asked how old she felt, the grandma said, "50, maybe 55." So, the curious granddaughter wanted to know how her 100-year-old grandma still felt young. The centenarian's response was, "I don't know, but I feel healthy. You know, like, there's nothing aching and hanging."
Catching her overly confident statement, the grandma started praying to God to let her get through her 100th birthday. "Don't fool around. I feel fine. I'll take good care of myself so that I'll make it," she added. Then, Dornan revealed that the family had planned a party in the garden downstairs for Grandma's 100th birthday. "Sounds good. All the people looking out the window," the centenarian quipped. This viral video garnered over 2.4 million likes and more than 40,000 comments. People showered their love and wishes for the cute old lady.
"Bless this beautiful woman. She still has it for sure. What a blessing to all her family and friends," said @gingerkantor. "She seems like she’s a positive and grateful woman and this shows in her health and longevity. Wishing you a happy birthday Ma’am," commented @umm_ayyub_official. "She’s beautiful and so sharp, and for her to be 100, looking at her skin and eyes, I can tell she was gorgeous in her younger days because, as she said, she takes good care of herself. I love it!" chimed in @liz_j.miz. "I love the fact that she still knows the math," quipped @mr.nobody_xxv.

On July 3, 2023, Dornan shared a video of her grandma's 100th birthday party. "Today, we celebrated 100 years of life! Thank you, God, for not fooling around," Dornan quipped in the caption. As the whole family sang "Happy Birthday," the granddaughter brought the cake for her grandma, who was in her wheelchair. Adorned with a cute purple tiara made of flowers, the centenarian looked at the cake and asked, "Is that purple?" Dornan said it was a chocolate cake and asked the grandma to make a wish and blow out the candles. The old woman cheekily licked the cake's ganache a little, wished for her family's happiness and took a big breath to blow out the candles.
