A grandmother, once a midwife, was fondly recalled by her clients and their families for how she helped them through pregnancies and transformed their lives.
Certain people are fondly remembered even after their deaths. They might have greatly impacted people around them when they were alive by being kind and compassionate. Similarly, a grandkid, u/Evarchem, shared how their mom received a heartfelt text message from one of their grandma's clients' acquaintances years after her demise. The message mentioned how the grandma positively impacted that woman.
The grandkid revealed that their grandma used to be a midwife who attended over 4000 births during her career. "Her goal was to teach her clients, mainly women but some nonbinary people, how to trust and love and be proud of their bodies. She also worked very hard to put misogynistic and racist doctors in their place," they wrote. They lost their grandma in 2017, but they continued to hear positive stories about her from people who knew their grandma.
"I’ve been recognized on school trips by her clients telling me how much they loved my grandma. My mom even met some abortion nurses who admired her. She co-parented me with my mom and her loss has felt like losing a piece of myself. But even now, years after she's gone, there are still fragments of her left in this world," the post continued. They concluded by recalling how their grandma had purple hair and it was "proof of her awesomeness." They also attached the screenshot of the text message their mom received.
Someone messaged my mom to tell her about a client my grandma made a positive impact on— years after she died

"Hi, I hope you are well. I spoke with a client's mom today. Years ago, grandma was her midwife. She is a traditional indigenous lady and she told me a story about how grandma taught her to trust her body and intuitions," the text message read. The woman texted how the grandma's words helped the client remain sober and raise her kids while keeping faith in herself. "I just wanted to share that with you. I love encountering people with stories about her," the text concluded. A few comments applauded the grandma for the work she did as a midwife in her lifetime.
u/Sarah_Jackson733r joked, "Mom got a message about how grandma still slayin' from beyond the grave!" u/Expensive_Nature_320 shared, "Someone messaged my mom about a client my grandma helped, even though she's long gone!" In a similar story where a person's good deed changed the life of an individual, a homeless man was delighted to meet a person who had handed him $500 at one point. Needless to say, it made a huge difference to him. In a video posted on Reddit by u/Phellexgodx, a man was seen having food when another individual walked up to him and recognized him as a certain Raymond.
The man who was eating also recognized the passerby as "Bond." The pair hugged and recalled their first interaction. At one point, Raymond was homeless but after Bond gave him $500, Raymond decided to turn his life around with it. "I got my life together. I'm in a shelter now. I saved some money and bought me some clothes. Got me shaved, haircut and everything. I've been doing good. I even found a job. They gave me the boots, the hat, the gloves and everything. The only thing I'm waiting for is an Osha card," Raymond told the kind man.
