Grandkids celebrate their 'Papaw's' 80th by recreating his best and funniest looks through the years

Celebrating milestone birthdays makes a person special in their own way, especially if they are spent with family. Similarly, when "birthday boy" Bill Webb was invited by his family over for dinner to celebrate his 80th birthday, he could never have expected what they had planned for him. As he walked inside the drawing room of their Tennessee house with his wife, Gail, he let out a gasp of excitement as his attention fell on the golden "80" and cluster of silver balloons that decorated the front wall. But what gave him the surprise of a lifetime was the dresses the family members were donning. Kenzie Greene, his only granddaughter–who goes by @kkenziegreene on Instagram–shared his wholesome reaction when he realized that his grandkids were honoring him with a fashion-themed tour of his life's eras.

The video, which has since attracted over 5 million views, revealed that Webb's grandkids had planned to honor him by dressing up as he used to during different eras of his life. Greene told TODAY that her mother, Stacy, and her aunts, Mandy Jones and Robyn Cooper, initially came up with this idea. Thereupon, she brought the idea to life and executed the entire plan. When Webb and Gail stepped inside the drawing room, he noticed that all his kids and their better halves were dressed in maroon sweatshirts and khakis, which they considered their Papaw's "signature outfit."

All this while, his grandkids had been hiding in the house's basement. When Papaw took his seat, the grandkids popped up from the basement, one by one, dressed in outfits that showcased their Papaw during different periods of his life. First appeared the 14-year-old Mason Greene, wearing a black coat suit representing his "elementary school quartet" looks. Then came the 19-year-old Hutton Jones, donning a cool orange sports tee to portray Webb's looks when he was a high-school football player. Greene flashed a loose white full-sleeved t-shirt and a back-turned cap to represent "Fraternity Papaw." 

Then, 22-year-old Jackson Greene showcased Webb's beach fashion, whereas 20-year-old Carson Cooper dressed in a wedding suit with a red rose as Papaw on his wedding day. Teenagers Colton Jones and Cameron Coopers showed off Webb's looks as a dad and an engineer, respectively. Meanwhile, the family flipped through old photos of Webb in which he wore all these looks. Seeing both his grandkids and the old photos, he couldn't stop laughing and blushing with an extended "Oh my God" expression. Beside him, Gail, too was rolling in amusement. "It was so cute," Greene told the outlet. "He just kept saying, 'How did you guys do this? Where did you get that from?' Everyone was just dying laughing." 

The wholesome video touched many people on the platform, who flocked in to share their views in the comments. "He's gotta be a 10/10 grandpa if they all gonna dress like him and love on him," pointed out @britt_gibson88. "This is like Papaw: The Eras Tour," chimed in @grayspitzer. "I may not know this family personally, but this speaks volumes about love, legacy and the strength of family bonds. What a reminder of the beauty in honoring those who paved the road before us. This is the kind of legacy that inspires us all. What a family!" @gogiogo appreciated the familial bond. "Lol! Papaw saw 'Beach Papaw' and was like, 'When the heck did I wear that?'" joked @ileanehrndz.
