When it comes to testing a partner's commitment, some people go to extremes to figure out where they stand. Relationship tests have long fascinated people, with different trends gaining traction online. However, one woman's drastic attempt to test her boyfriend's devotion has sparked a heated discussion online and left her filled with regret. A 29-year-old man, u/Plane_Zebra_4553, took to Reddit to share a shocking experience involving his girlfriend, Andrea, whom he had been dating for a few months. Their relationship had been going smoothly until one night when Andrea decided to test his commitment in a way he could never have expected.

Late at night, his girlfriend called him in a panic, claiming to be experiencing a severe medical emergency. “She told me she was seriously injured, having chest pain, and couldn’t breathe,” he wrote. “She even said she thought she was dying and begged me to come to her house right away because her parents were out.” She also mentioned calling 911 but said she needed him there for support. Shocked and scared for her safety, he rushed to her house as fast as he could. When he arrived, however, there was no emergency. Instead, Andrea greeted him with a smile and revealed the truth.

“She said she was joking and wanted to see how ‘committed’ I am in a crisis because that’s an essential part of a relationship,” the man explained. Relief quickly turned to anger as he realized the extent of her deception. “I asked her what the f**k her problem was,” he wrote. “She said I was overreacting, but I told her I didn’t deserve to be treated like trash or used like this.”

In the heat of the moment, he called her a “fu*** bi***” and left her house. Andrea broke down in tears, claiming she had only wanted to test their relationship. The man ignored her texts afterward and took to Reddit to ask if he was wrong for reacting the way he did.

The post quickly went viral, sparking debate online. Many users supported his response, criticizing Andrea’s behavior as manipulative and dangerous. u/AdOne8433 wrote, "Run! She intentionally put you in a state of panic, causing you to drive in that state of panic, which is a recipe for disaster. An accident waiting to happen." u/LostMyThread said, "Red flags all over this one. OP needs to look up Cluster B Personality Disorder. This kind of test figures in all of them." Some couldn't believe the prank was pulled by an adult. u/yaoikat added, "I mean, she sounds like she's 12, run." u/Youwhooo60 agreed, "Did you card her to make sure she's 29? This sounds like high school antics. She's not girlfriend material. She's immature and foolish."

Despite the overwhelming advice to leave the relationship, the man later updated his post to share that he had decided to give Andrea another chance. “She’s apologized a lot and promised to never do that again. I’ll be more careful, of course, and I won’t trust her blindly, but I’ve decided to give her one chance since she seems genuinely regretful," he wrote in an update.
