'I love the way he looks at you like a toddler looks at his mom for help.'
A customer became the perfect wing woman for a Target employee who thought his colleague was “cute.” Megan Million — who goes by @meganmillion100 on Instagram — pulled up on an employee and began gesturing to the 'crush' he had on a fellow worker standing right behind him. As they both struggled to keep a straight face, Million had served her purpose by making light of the situation — enough for them to be able to address the elephant in the room. Million recorded their shy interaction and later uploaded the video to her social media, showcasing sweaty palms, beating hearts, and awkward silences between words that were long due.
Based in New York City, digital content creator Megan visited Target one random day for groceries and to pick up all the necessities for her home. During her visit, she spotted two of the employees casually flirting with each other — but no one said or did anything to make their feelings known. Later, Megan playfully ambushed the male employee, pointed at his 'crush', and asked him loudly, “Isn't that the girl you were calling cute earlier?” Awkwardness flooded his face with red, and suddenly, he was bereft of words.
To “set them up,” she tried to initiate a conversation between them by asking him to “get her number,” to which he promptly responded that he already had it. So, Million suggested straight up, “You two should go on a date.” Upon asking the guy if he would be interested in taking his coworker on a date, he responded positively and asked her out, to which the girl said “yes.” Without Million's intervention, perhaps the two would still be stuck clearing shelves and exchanging pleasantries, robbed of the chance to see their connection blossom.
There are several such moments in life when all we need is a little push for us to get up and get moving. At times, that push might seem sudden, awkward, even uncomfortable, but it nudges us towards what we've been chasing — subconsciously. When it comes to asking our crush out on a date, it can be a harrowing, stomach-twisting phenomenon. In such cases, it helps if an extroverted stranger suddenly drops by to move things along. A study by Elaine Hatfield and others reveals that when we ask someone out, the chances of the person saying yes, excluding those in a relationship, are 68 per cent for men and 43 per cent for women. Therefore, if you are interested in someone, just say the word — chances are it may lead to a serendipitous future.
After watching the video, viewers had varying opinions to share. @milkclubtime joked about the guy’s awkwardness, “I love the way he looks at you like a toddler looks at his mom for help,” while @sjonseyxoxo wrote, “These are the type of extroverts I fear.” @sassdiaries adored the guy, “Bless him. He knows full well he was saving to buy some new jeans and now he has to pay for an amusement park. All in the name of love though, my boy,” and @rabizm_ shared an anecdote, “I’ve done this with people on their first date to help men get their first kiss. It was so cute.”
