Woman left stunned by positive responses after switching dating profile pictures with 'ugly' ones

Dating in the age of technology isn't any easier than it used to be. On one hand, finding your date online can be a convenient way to meet new people but on the other hand, there is always a safety and security concern that lingers at the back of people's minds. While someone's online profile can be flashy and attractive, it might be serving as a perfect camouflage for an ugly personality. Well, we can never list a finite number of drawbacks to online dating but we can definitely do something fun with it.

A woman named Hannah who goes by @hannahesken on TikTok has gone viral after doing a complete makeover of her dating profile on the Hinge app and sharing a video about it. What started as an act born out of boredom quickly bore her surprising results. One night, Hannah randomly decided to change all her attractive photos on the dating app and replace them with her pictures which she considers "ugly." It's common for people on dating apps to put their best version out to score a perfect date but Hannah has something else in her mind.

In the viral video, she shares all the pictures she has taken of herself from "unattractive" angles and some of them even feature Hannah stuffing her face with food. "I’m gonna change all my cute Hinge pictures to ugly pictures of myself. I’m so bored," she laughed while telling her audience. "So right now it’s a highlight reel like I only have like cute pictures of myself. Like, okay, who is she?” Hannah said while showing the photos on her dating profile to the camera.

“I’ve gathered all the pictures that I’m gonna put on there," she said while showing the TikTok audience a bunch of more pictures that reflected her personality more compared to the previous ones. "I swear, all the guys that I’ve probably past matched with, they’re going to unmatch me. They’re going to be like, ‘I don’t remember matching with this ogre.'" Hannah even went as far as to change all the prompts on her profile to random answers in order to see what happens to her matches.

In one prompt she wrote with no context: "Dating me is like eating a bowl of pasta." But Hannah and her followers were not ready for the results of her dating profile getting an unconventional revamp. She made a follow-up video on her second TikTok page @hesky where she disclosed how it was shocking for her to learn that guys on the app liked her "unhinged" version more than the one where she had pretty pictures up.

With her "unhinged" new profile, she was stunned to get even more matches from guys, including those men whom she had liked but who didn't like her back. TikTok users had their own theories on why this was actually a smart move from Hannah to be authentic on her dating profile. @xx.sophia.me.xx wrote: "This just shows the real ones because if they like you at your lowest, that’s a keeper." @unsupervisedfloofs joked: "It’s giving the Hinge in unhinged."

@matthewbrander3 commented: "This is legitimately how you’ll meet the right person for you." @tuwulip added: "Did this and listed my career as goat therapist and said that I was selectively blind. My phone blew up in one night." Hannah's video is proof that not being afraid to show your authentic self to others actually increases your chances of getting noticed by the right person and even helps you find your potential romantic partner.
