'My biggest achievement of 2025,' the footballer admitted, reflecting on his involvement in the pettiest revenge scam

Cheating is the ultimate betrayal that shatters the core foundation of the relationship. And over time, infidelity turns into a raging spark that fuels the burning coals of revenge. That's exactly what happened to a woman who realized that her boyfriend was cheating on her with her best friend. Infuriated, she teamed up with his mistress's favorite TikToker and served them the ultimate payback. In an April 8 video, Noah Pilato, who goes by @noah_pilato5 on Instagram, shared his involvement in the explosive cheating controversy, amassing over 3.4 million views on his page.
"It is the most insane scenario I have ever been a part of in my entire life," Pilato, the 29-year-old football player, said in his now-viral video. The girl, he explained, was a genius, and so was her plan. When she realized that her boyfriend was cheating on her with her best friend, she asked Pilato to pretend to know her. "My boyfriend is a die-hard Chargers fan… and I know you’re going to the Redskins–Chargers game on Sunday. I need you, when you go to the stadium to the football game, to send me a selfie with an empty seat next to you," Pilato recalled her saying.

The woman, who worked as a digital content creator, had basically planned to Photoshop herself into the photo and then post it online. "She’s like, 'My boyfriend is going to see that I’m at a Chargers game with another guy — he's going to lose his mind. My girlfriend is going to see that I’m at a football game with you... she’s going to lose her mind,'" Pilato shared. As promised, the footballer sent her a selfie with an empty seat next to him. Pilato said that the Photoshopped version she sent to him was dumbfounding, more real than the real thing. He said, "It looked as if she actually sat next to me at the stadium." As planned, the girl then posted the photoshopped image online, leaving her cheater boyfriend and her best friend dumbstruck. "My greatest achievement of 2025," Pilato confessed.

While the cheater boyfriend was enraged that the woman went out to his favorite game with another guy, his mistress was jealous that she hung out with Pilato. Nevertheless, the woman decided not to respond, leaving them in confusion. The girl got her revenge, but sadly, many don’t, given that a whopping number of partners experience this betrayal. A Spokeo survey reported that more than two in five, about 44.3% of Americans, have cheated on their partners. Another report by the Institute of Family Studies revealed that men are more likely than women to cheat on their partners. While 20% of men confessed to being physically intimate with someone other than their spouse, only 13% of women reported the same.
A 2017 report on infidelity was published in the Archives of Sexual Behavior, where researchers tracked 484 unmarried young adults over five years to observe their behavior across at least two different romantic relationships. They found that individuals who were unfaithful in their first relationship were three times more likely to be unfaithful in their next relationship.

Meanwhile, viewers who watched Pilato’s video couldn’t resist cracking up. For instance, @jennie_martensson commented, "What a great story to tell your grandkids one day." Similarly, @tia_ma_he said, "Both of you are legends — this isn't petty, it's genius! Love that you were psyched too. You should both be proud. Also, I was waiting to see the picture..."
