As it turned out, Evan had hooked up with Carrie before he met Steph, but he kept it a secret throughout the relationship.
Trusting a cheater is a recipe for disaster. Unfortunately, Steph (@slenavitt) from Pittsburgh realized it only after she forgave her boyfriend, Evan, who cheated on her with his ex-girlfriend. She thought she'd found her fairytale ending until Carrie, her boyfriend's female coworker, came into the picture. For months, he assured Steph that they were just friends, until his phone revealed shocking evidence. The story shared on February 18, 2026, has received over 1 million views on TikTok.
@slenavitt Okay finally… STORY TIME… She’s long but she’s a one parter so I did my best❤️ (watching it back I accidentally posted the tree clip twice, my b) #breakup #gothroughhisphone ♬ original sound - Steph
It all started back in August 2025 when Evan and Steph met. He had just broken up with his ex-girlfriend, Julia, in May, so they wanted to take things slow. About six weeks in, Steph felt Evan was still hung up on Julia and tried to distance herself. Evan also admitted they rushed into things, but the couple soon got back together. Later, during an argument, Evan confessed to physical intimacy with Julie after he started dating Steph. She was obviously hurt but agreed to give Evan another chance. Steph even asked if he'd lied about anything else, but Evan said no.

Apart from Julia, Carrie, Evan's coworker, was also a recurring issue in their relationship. Ironically, he said men and women couldn't be friends, yet he insisted Carrie was just a friend. "I actually don't really believe in the idea of men having friends that are women because I feel like on some level that means you want to f**k them." But when Steph asked about Carrie, Evan acted like she was crazy: "You think I'd be attracted to Carrie?" To prove they were just friends, Evan even brought Carrie to the bar where Steph worked so she could meet her and feel better about it.

With time, Steph noticed Evan was spending more time with Carrie. Once, he spent an entire day drinking and shopping at Home Depot with her and even went ice skating with her — something he had refused to do with Steph. Whenever his girlfriend confronted him, he dismissed her concerns, saying Carrie was "just a friend." Eventually, Steph put her foot down about Carrie calling Evan late at night and told him to set real boundaries.

However, things escalated when, during a beach vacation in Key Largo, Evan casually revealed that he'd unblocked his ex-girlfriend, Julia. That led to a massive fight between him and Steph. On Valentine's Day, while Evan was outside walking Steph's dog, she decided to check his phone. While searching for Julia's name, she stumbled across his texts with Carrie instead. The texts showed Evan giving Carrie his house's Wi-Fi password and telling her, "Doors unlocked, make yourself comfortable." Steph even saw a text when Carrie had confessed her feelings to her boyfriend. As it turned out, Evan had hooked up with Carrie before meeting Steph, but he kept it a secret throughout the relationship. When Steph confronted him, Evan blamed his past drinking. "Did I lie to you for seven months straight, Evan? Did I make you hang out with people I f*****?" she exclaimed in her video.
Workplace romance in the United States is remarkably widespread. In fact, a Resume Genius survey of 1,000 U.S. employees shows that 36% of American workers admit to having a physical relationship with a coworker. The report found that 45% of Gen Z and 42% of Millennials have been physically involved with a coworker. Out of these numbers, 10% of Gen Z and 9% of Millennials claim that workplace romance has helped them climb the stairs of promotion.

Calling out the classic deflection tactics of deceitful partners, user @kayla wrote: "Its always the girl friends they call “ugly” and supposedly 'hate.'" Validating Steph's raw emotional clips, user @Brittany reassured her: "You were never pathetic by the way, you were hurt."
