He was so confident that he wouldn't be caught that he even posted online — but that turned out to be his biggest mistake

A cheating boyfriend lied about his work trip to enjoy a romantic vacation with another woman. Convinced no one would suspect anything, he posted pictures online— but let's just say that turned out to be his biggest mistake. Haley Loraine Monet (@haleyymonet), his girlfriend, was scrolling through his social media when she spotted a tiny detail in one of his posts. Suspicious, she investigated further and realized her boyfriend, instead of working in Texas, was in Miami with his affair partner. In a video that has reached over 300k views on Instagram, Monet shared how she caught her boyfriend red-handed on March 20.
The story dates back six years, when Monet was dating a man she was already doubtful about. He told her he was going to Texas for a work trip, but Monet, for some reason, knew he was lying. "Something inside of me just was like, 'I don't believe him,'" she said, recalling the incident.
After the ex-boyfriend left for his so-called work trip, Monet began her investigation. He had posted a video of himself walking down the street, and a tiny detail in the background only deepened her doubts. "Behind him in the video is one of those electrical boxes... and they have numbers on them. Those numbers are meant to identify the exact electric box; that is, they tell you what company it's tied to and what city it is in," Monet explained.
Monet zoomed in on the number and figured out that her ex-boyfriend was in Miami.

Next, she checked his most recent post and discovered a Miami woman had liked his photo. She went through her stories and found the woman at a restaurant, but there was no evidence proving she was with her boyfriend.
Thankfully, when Monet went through the restaurant's social media, she found a tagged video and spotted her boyfriend in the background. "…and that's a story about how I found my ex cheating," she confessed. While Monet could catch her ex red-handed, she said she doesn't favor this behavior. "If you feel like you need to be doing this with a guy you are dating, you probably just shouldn't be dating him," she added.
Infidelity, unfortunately, has become very common in relationships. In fact, data from Women's Health Interactive revealed 23.2% of heterosexual married men and 19.2% of heterosexual married women have cheated on their partner in America. When we look at the dating scenario, the survey found 23.4% of men and 15.5% of women reported cheating on their partner.
Among cheating women, more than half (53%) cheat with a friend as compared to 32% of men. Moreover, the study observed 44% of men and 32% of women begin their extramarital affairs at work.

Meanwhile, reacting to Monet's top-notch investigation, @caali_b shared, "I found out my ex was cheating on me with my best friend because I recognized her knee, lol." Similarly, @griffithgoldentertainment commented, "People charge $100 an hour for this professionally, lol. Women will do it full pro bono out of intuition."
@_meghansn wrote, "It’s funny because men force us to act like this. At no point in our personal lives do we want to investigate. But we literally have to. Because we always find something." @julianjhowarth joked, "Your investigation skills are wasted. You should look for a role in the CIA."
