It is no secret that generational gaps are a real phenomenon. There is a stark difference between Generation Alpha kids and individuals who are Millennials and Gen Xers. The primary difference is that kids from Generation Alpha conform less to authority and openly speak their minds. Their behavior has resulted in millennials and Gen Xers coming up with a hilarious nickname for Gen Alpha kids, calling them "Honey Badgers." For clarification, Gen Alpha consists of people born in 2010 and after. The reason for such a term to come up is simply because Gen Alpha individuals are particularly unique when it comes to things like comedy and pop culture. Millennials and Gen Xers who have been raising Gen Alpha kids have been sharing anecdotes about what makes them stand out.

As for the nickname itself, it has its origins in a viral YouTube video of an individual doing a comedic voiceover over footage of the animal in its natural habitat. It became a popular term across the internet, commonly used to refer to unapologetic people who did what they wanted, regardless of what others thought. The term was brought back to life by TikTok user @thatpsychnp, who started a video series about "Gen Alpha honey badgers" in 2022.

Her video series contains over 26 videos where she reacts to Gen Alpha children doing crazy things. One of the videos has various clips of very young kids going to protest marches and making an actual difference. She says, "The apocalypse has begun and I am here for it." Another video saw the creator talking about a group of Gen Alpha kids who were middle schoolers saving another kid from being kidnapped by a 30-year-old man at a bus station. In another hilarious video, she shares her own experience of being a parent to a Gen Alpha kid, comparing them to the "four horsemen of the apocalypse."

The term "Honey Badger" seems to be picking up among people, with another user, @thespecialmagnolia, sharing her own views in a recent video, being a millennial parent herself. She says that she would describe her 5-year-old daughter to be a "Honey Badger" on a "good day." The woman then states how the latest generation has more "fury, conviction and confidence" than other generations. Her video, captioned "My child is 1000% Gen Alpha Honey Badger," has gained over 72K likes on the platform along with 3k comments.

Users on the platform agreed with the woman and shared their thoughts in the comments section. @itkittymom commented, "I keep telling my friends that [if you] are parents of Gen Alpha, just set up a savings account, 'cause you don't know if it's a college fund or bail." Another parent, @sheeelbaaay, shared, "My child is spicy as hell. He asked his grandpa, 'Papa, how did you get so old without learning how to control your temper?? Blow out the candles!'" @yaminon61 said, "I had to look it up and all four of my kids are honey badgers. I'm a millennial parent winging it. Idk what I'm doing."
