While video games have dominated children's worlds for decades, the plethora of features added to online gaming has taken it to the next level. Kids get immersed in the mythical worlds and transform into interesting and powerful avatars while their parents try to get them to listen. Parents these days need immense patience to deal with gaming addiction in children while also trying to get their kids to do productive activities. That's what one mom was struggling to do while her son was avidly focused on his game. When he refused to listen, a 26-year-old gamer named Marcus–who goes by @mdeethegamer on TikTok–backed the mom up.

During one of their Fortnite games, Marcus encountered a boy whose mother was repeatedly asking him to get off the game. From what could be heard through the speaker in Marcus' joystick, it was clear that the mom wanted the boy to take a shower. She urged her son to stop playing and shower so that she could take a shower after he finished. "Let's go now," the mom yelled, but boy seemed to adamantly refuse and carry on with his game. "You want to talk back one more time?" the mom asked furiously and that's when Marcus stepped in to back her up. "Get off the game and go take your shower," Marcus told the kid, speaking through his controller.

Noting that the mother still had to call out to her son, Marcus again yelled, "You better listen to your mom and get off this game." The boy was utterly confused as to who was talking to him. Marcus confirmed, "I said that." He added, "You better respect your mom. She told you to get off the game." The boy tried to reason with Marcus, telling him he had just started the game and wanted to finish it. "That doesn't matter you're supposed to listen to your mother. Don't be disrespecting your mom," the gamer told the boy sternly. "Whose child is this?" Marcus asked in disbelief in the text overlay and lamented in the caption how kids these days are "out of the pocket."

This interaction warmed hearts online and many lauded Marcus for helping the mom out. "As a Mama, sometimes they need to hear it from other people cause they are too comfortable with their parents. I'm sitting here like, 'Yes sir, get him,'" wrote @violet2286. To this, Marcus agreed by saying, "It takes a village." @jellyfishanddittos mentioned, "As a mom, strangers and relatives backing me up helps keep my kids in line. The mom was probably thankful if she could hear you." @tiedyedsunset added, "One time I could hear an alarm going off while my son was playing, and I was like, 'Is that in your game?' and he said, 'The other kid’s mom had burnt dinner.' Haha."

Speaking of hilarious video game interactions, a mom had to track down her daughter on a gaming platform to ask her to defrost the lasagna. ChaCha Watson, hailing from Chicago, tried to call her daughter, Miracle, but she did not pick up. So she instantly logged onto the gaming platform, Roblox, and asked Miracle to take out the lasagna and garlic bread from the freezer so she could cook it once she got home. She shared this incident on Facebook, captioning it, "When my baby doesn't answer the phone, I pull up on ROBLOX," and the post went wildly viral.
