"The funniest man I've ever met. The sweetest human to exist," the star said of her fiancé.
Oscar nominee Gabourey Sidibe is engaged! The 37-year-old actress announced her engagement to boyfriend Brandon Frankel via an adorable Instagram post on Tuesday where she gushed about her beau. "Aaaah! I put a ring on it!", Frankel exclaimed in the video as Sidibe flashed her engagement ring. "That's it, that's all we wanted to say," the glowing bride-to-be added before her fiancé's antics sent her into a giggle fit. "It’s weird that people think we're already married but I guess our hearts and intentions for each other are just that clear to see. My BFF proposed and now I get to hold him forever," Sidibe captioned the post.
"The funniest man I've ever met. The sweetest human to exist. [Frankel] made up a song for when I put my bonnet on at night. The second I look a bit stressed and overwhelmed, he jumps into action to take over what he can for me. Every moment with him is a joy. He is the partner I thought I was too independent to need," the Precious and Empire star continued. "I've learned so much about myself through him and I feel grateful and excited to learn more about the entire world with him by my side. My partner, my best friend, my cats' daddy, my man, my heart, my fiancé!!!"
Frankel, a branding and marketing expert, also announced the relationship milestone in a sweet tribute to his best friend. "I asked my best friend to marry me, and she said 'YES!' So excited to spend the rest of my life with the most amazing, hilarious, beautiful, and inspiring woman I've ever known. I couldn't imagine a life without you. We make the best team, and we make everything fun and memorable. I liked it, so I put a [ring] on it. Love you to the moon and back," he wrote.
According to The Daily Beast, Sidibe and Frankel have been dating since 2019. The pair has been quite open about their relationship on social media in recent months, often sharing sneak peeks into their life while quarantining together in Los Angeles. Ringing in the new year with his now-fiancee, Frankel gushed about the Antebellum star in a heartwarming Instagram post. "Here’s to 2020- this past year was one of the toughest, but also one of the most rewarding and fulfilling of my life all at the same time! I’m truly thankful for my close family, friends, associates past and present... and most of all, for THIS Queen right here," he wrote, sharing a photo of the couple in matching "King" and "Queen" sweatshirts.
"You’re a ball of sunshine, so generous and giving of your time and love- and your excitement and passion for life and people/things you love truly lights up my heart. You’ve taught me so much about life, myself, and the world that is truly invaluable," Frankel continued. "You make me push myself to be a better me, even though you probably don’t even realize you are. I love you more and more every single day- which seems impossible but continually amazes me. Here’s to 2020- and thank you for loving me so unconditionally. I love being your forever-Dork."
