Losing a loved one is never easy, and everyone copes in their own way. A group of friends honored their special person by scattering their ashes in the sky while skydiving together. The video, shared by Joseph Thomas (@josephthomasphoto) on Instagram, sparked a wave of reactions online—some heartfelt, others unexpectedly humorous, offering the friends a moment of levity amid their grief.

As the video began, a group of friends skydived while holding a black bag between them. The text overlay read, "Farewell Ben, fly high." Inside the bag were their friend Ben's ashes, which they had brought to scatter in the sky as a final tribute. As they descended, the bag opened, and the ashes formed a soft gray cloud between them. Some friends grew emotional, shedding tears as they bid their last goodbye. The ashes continued to drift through the sky until the bag was empty, creating what seemed like a peaceful and heartfelt farewell, as reflected in the caption.

The video garnered a lot of attention online and received around 112 million views. Several witty comments poured in to help the group deal with their grief, while some people shared their own stories of overcoming the loss of a loved one. Certain people who knew Ben felt that he would have loved the gesture and the comments on the video as well.

I’m taking him to Japan, Ireland and most importantly, South Indiana. I will spread him in these places we didn’t have enough time to go. Sickness took him from us. But I live on for the both of us from now until forever. I am my brother's keeper. Fly high, big brother. I love you, I miss you."
