'Friends' Is Hitting Theaters For Its 25th Anniversary! Could We BE Any More Hyped?

If you still remember the sad day that comedy, as we know it on nighttime television, died, that is, the day Friends went off the air, then maybe you should be sitting down for this news. In honor of the show's 25th anniversary, theaters across the United States will be screening 12 iconic episodes of the sitcom over a span of three nights, Entertainment Weekly reports. While we've spent every night since Netflix became a thing watching reruns of the show, this is a whole new ballgame. The television show has been newly remastered - which means we can now see Matthew Perry's gorgeous face in a beautiful, crystal clear 4K. (What? Some of us have the hots for the funny one, okay?)

On September 23, September 28, and October 2, you can watch your favorite gang of pals, Rachel, Ross, Joey, Chandler, Monica, and Phoebe, hang out at the Central Perk once again. This time, it's on the big screen. Every night, theaters will screen four of the series' most unforgettable episodes. That's about one and a half hours of unadulterated Friends fun. You may as well block your calendars now because your weekend plans are pretty much set in stone.

However, for serious Friends fans, the screenings will also feature exclusive, never-before-seen content such as interviews and behind-the-scenes clips. Additionally, the episodes have been remastered from the original 35mm camera negative into 4K, which will make your viewing experience all the more special. Tickets will go on sale later this month on August 16. They're certain to sell out quick, so make sure you're ready to grab tickets as soon as they go live on Fathom Events.

Warner Brothers Television Group President and Chief Marketing Officer Lisa Gregorian said of the upcoming screenings, "The cultural impact that Friends continues to have, 25 years after its premiere, is astounding, a true testament to the genius of Marta Kauffman, David Crane, Kevin Bright, and the incredibly talented cast. It is so amazing to know that the series is still bringing people of all ages together. We could not be more excited to deliver these digitally remastered episodes to theaters — for the first time ever! — so that together, in a shared experience, our loyal fans can enjoy some of their favorite Friends scenes in a new way."

If you're wondering what episodes will be featured, here's a quick schedule.

Night 1, September 21: Pilot - ReDo, The One With The Black Out, The One With The Birth, The One Where Ross Finds Out
Night 2, September 28: The One With The Prom Video, The One Where No One’s Ready, The One With The Morning After, The One With The Embryos
Night 3, October 2: The One With Chandler In  A Box, The One With Ross’s Wedding – Part 2, The One Where Everyone Finds Out, The One Where Ross Got High

Don't forget to purchase your tickets!
