Friends dress-up as 7-year-old version of woman to celebrate her 30th birthday: 'What a blessing'

Birthdays often create cherished memories, and for Annie Kearns, her 30th birthday was unforgettable thanks to her friends and family. They planned an epic surprise that had her laughing on the floor, according to CTA News. A sneak peek shared by @yepitscake on Instagram revealed the theme: Kearns' 3rd-grade school picture. She wore a shirt with this picture, but the real surprise was yet to come.

Around 14 friends and family members dressed up as 7-year-old Kearns, replicating her decades-old photo. The picture featured young Kearns in a printed top, straight hair, a hairband, and an adorable smile. The chosen photo highlighted a striking feature: Kearns had cut her own bangs just before picture day, resulting in a crooked and messy look. Her friends perfectly recreated this humorous hairdo. Kearns shared the funny story behind the memorable picture.

The birthday girl mentioned that it was a day before picture day at school. She wanted to look different. “I didn’t want them anymore. So I just started cutting,” she recalled. Her mom, completely clueless about her daughter’s shenanigans, walked in and was flabbergasted. “She saw it and was like, ‘Oh no!’” Kearns remarked. An embarrassing memory for Kearns cost her the 3rd grade picture day. However, the young woman’s friends clung to the picture ever since they found out. They said, “Oh yes!” to the same and ensured they all had a copy. 

Kearns’ friends knew they had to include the iconic photo in her 30th birthday celebration. “We wanted to do some sort of dress-up theme night,” one of her friends said. After planning the humorous surprise, the day finally arrived. Kearns was blindfolded and seated on a couch. Her friends helped her put on the T-shirt with the picture. The results of the unhinged surprise were beautifully captured in the video. Having no clue what to expect, Kearns took off the blindfold and saw that over 12 of her favorite people gathered around her in a mind-boggling depiction of her 3rd-grade self. She burst out laughing at the very sight.

Each of her friends adorning a perfectly matching shirt as she had in 3rd grade. The star- the bangs and the hair were matched to perfection with the help of wigs and some hilarious creativity. As the group looked at her, it was a witty yet nostalgic moment for Kearns. Making it seem like her younger self was staring right back at her, the friends made it one of the best and most memorable surprises ever. @ezjaxter wrote, “This girl got 14 friends that were willing to dress up like her elementary school picture?
