'You can tell it's like she's worried about the child but she's mostly worried about people around her,' recalled Sharon.

Moms often feel apologetic about their babies crying in public places like restaurants or airplanes. And people are also not much of a help as they begin to give irritating looks or complain about it. After videos of people asking to make airplanes baby-free went viral, TikTok user @sharon.a.life who is a former flight attendant shared a real-life instance involving a mother and her crying child and explained why people should judge less and empathize more.

"When I got on a flight one time there was a young mother with like a 6 or 7-year-old and it was a three-hour flight, everything was going well. I worked on really small planes like 50 to 150 people okay. And upon descending this child starts screaming and crying bloody murder the entire plane could hear it there's no escaping it even with the headphones," she says in the video.

She then recalled that as time went on, the mother became more distraught over her child. "You can tell it's like she's worried about the child but she's mostly worried about people around her. She keeps apologizing profusely to the people in front of her, behind her and she's like trying to like cover her child's mouth. She keeps saying, 'It's okay, it's okay, stop crying,'" shared Sharon.

As the former air hostess was going up and down, one woman stopped her and said: "I have some gum right here, I wonder if that child's ears hurt. Can you give this to this mother?" Another woman on the plane also asked Sharon to tell the mother that it's okay and that she should stop stressing over what others are thinking and take care of her child.

Meanwhile, one woman went and sat by the mother, said Sharon, "just like patting her back, rubbing her shoulders saying 'it's okay I have been a mom too and this is a hard place you're doing great.'"

Sharon concludes the video by saying, "So just remember for every mean judgy person out there that's making these horrible assumptions about your motherhood, there are at least three other people out there that are like 'hey, you're doing a great job, you're gonna get through this.' Let's sympathize more and judge less."

The video went viral with more than 5 million views and is captioned, "Judge less, empathize more." Many on TikTok loved the story that the woman shared. @killytilly01 commented, "Girl I got misty-eyed just hearing that story. It takes a village." @lovechebellaco wrote, "The anti-baby/child noises ideology is so frustrating. It isolates mothers from society. Thank you for being amazing!"

@kccbooks expressed, "That story is shocking, thank you for sharing, you don't hear about people being nice to each other much anymore, especially on an airplane." @karacaicedo shared, "Me sobbing because my flight experience with my autistic son was so hard and I loved the woman power surrounding me!"

@mommawolfmetaphysics commented, "Why am I tearing up? My 1.5 [year old] had a total meltdown in an Ikea. A couple of people gave sideways glances but multiple moms offered help [and] encouragement as I carried a flailing baby out of a massive furniture store. They're the real ones."
