Footage showing inside of Egyptian pyramids is interesting and terrifying at the same time

The Egyptian pyramids are home to several mysteries, stories and the history of one of the most intriguing cultures in the world. They are also a spectacular sight for something people made before the invention of advanced machines. Although several people visit the pyramids as tourists, not many get a chance to go inside one. The pyramids were also sealed shut once to stop people from entering inside, per UNILAD. However, everyone is curious about what lies inside these historical and massive structures.

A video on TikTok showing the inside of a pyramid is doing the rounds on the internet and people are amazed. Younes Zarou—who goes by @youneszarou on TikTok—takes his viewers inside a pyramid with him. The 33-second video shows him go down a cramped-looking slide down a seemingly bottomless pit. Then he goes up a similarly cramped and dark staircase, where people can not see where it would lead. There is another tunnel-like structure that a person has to crawl to get through because of how small it is. It eventually led to another hallway with drawings and writings popularly known as hieroglyphs.

The video has garnered nearly 16 million views and 849K likes. People took to the comments to express their feelings about the spooky sights inside the pyramid. @noonseen2024 wrote, "I'm Egyptian and I've never been inside. I can't breathe just watching the video." @_mustafaa21 remarked, "I've been living in Cairo for 22 years and this is my first time seeing how the pyramids are from the inside." @mar_tp_ shared, "With this video, I discovered that I have claustrophobia, lol." @domisiek24 added, "I'm so glad I saw it earlier, I guess I would have been shocked inside, I thought it was a huge space."

Besides talking about the insides, how the Egyptians built the pyramids is another mystery researchers and scientists worldwide have been quite interested in. As there are not many writings available from the era, scientists have to assume many things. However, due to advancements in technology, they have found many new things. The tallest pyramid stands at 455 feet. What started as small tombs or Mastabas eventually changed with the evolution of architecture to turn into the Great Pyramids made during Pharaoh Khufu's reign. In between, there was also an attempt made to smooth pyramids instead of the stepped ones, but it failed.

Egypt's location near a port helped transport materials used for the pyramids, as reported by Live Science. A helpful technique was to wet the desert sand to reduce its friction. It would lead to the use of half the manpower for dragging bricks across the sand. However, the question of how the workers took heavy bricks to such great heights is still unknown. They think they could have used some form of ramps, but nothing is known for sure. Hence, the mystery of the pyramids lives on.
