A Gen Z finance expert deciphers a man's first date credit card choice, unveiling insights into the guy's financial personality.
Credit cards are an inseparable part of many people's modern lives. With so many banks offering different credit cards with varying benefits, a card can reveal certain things about its owner. For instance, one can judge a person's financial habits, lifestyle and priorities. Basically, if one knows what benefits different types of cards offer, one can make a few accurate assumptions about the owner of the card. Gen Z finance expert Danny (@dimeswithdanny) recently shared a video where he shares his own insights on what a guy's credit card says about him on a first date.
He starts the video by showing an Amex Platinum card. Danny states that if a man pulls this card out, he is quite rich. He says, "Definitely makes over 200K working in finance or tech." The influencer does warn his viewers not to ask the man about the card as he will not shut up about it. Even though the card indicates wealth, it's meant for travel and not dining, which meant that the card could be considered a "Red flag." He does mention that if one is looking for a "Sugar daddy," they can continue dating the individual as they will get to travel to many places with the card.
The next card he covers is the Discover IT card. He says that this card could mean two things. The first assumption is that the man has little to no credit because of it being a "beginner card." But it can also be very positive according to Danny as it indicates that man is very loyal. He goes on to say how the card was a lot of people's first credit card, which meant that the man would be very committed while in a relationship. He says, "He might have low credit, and you know what? He's working on it. So, yellow flag."
The final card he talks about in the video is the Capital One Venture X card. He hilariously says, "Marry him on the spot." Danny says that his card indicated that the man was not "overly boujee," but he had done his research and got one of the best travel cards. The card further indicated that the man knew all the benefits the card offered and was also an avid traveler. He says that a man owning this card would be honest, work a stable job and would be very financially knowledgeable.
He finally considers the case where a man pays for dinner with cash. Danny funnily remarks, "Why are you literally on a date with a grandpa? Let this man rest." People loved the video and shared their own thoughts on credit cards in the comments section.@michellered0 said, "Cash makes me think I might be the side piece and he doesn't want this to show up on his credit card statement." @tacobell_connoisseur27 commented, "I didn't know the Amex Platinum was a big deal like that. Now I know why my friends make jokes when I pull mine out." @alessia.malkova shared, "Idc which card, as long as he pays."
The creator followed up with two other parts on the same topic. In the second part, he mentions the Chase Sapphire card and tells viewers to "keep this man!" Danny describes the card to be the ultimate "Boujee travel daddy card" and green flag. In the third part, he starts off with the Amex Black Card, also known as the "Centurion card" and states that the man might be too old for his viewers if he uses this card. The card also indicates that the man is "filthy rich." Danny does mention the instance when a man pulls out a debit card to pay the bill and points out that the man is not at all "financially savvy."
