The Thousand Islands trip

The trouble began after his then-fiancée took a girls' trip to the Thousand Islands and casually mentioned meeting some guys who were out fishing. Soon after returning, she became distant, ghosting calls while staying active on Snapchat, before suddenly ending the engagement in August, claiming she "fell out of love" and wanted space. The breakup took a surreal turn as he was saying a tearful goodbye to her family, only for a guy named Steven to show up at the front door holding a box of Legos to hang out with her. She rushed her distraught fiancé out the door, calling it "just a prank," before placing him on strict no-contact.

Wrong person, wrong timing 

After moving on and focusing on self-love, the full truth eventually trickled back to him through mutual friends. It turned out Steven wasn't a longtime acquaintance as she had claimed; they actually met during that Thousand Islands trip, where she was secretly texting him "every second" while wearing her engagement ring around her neck. To make matters worse, photo evidence revealed she had snapped pictures at Steven’s place wearing the matching gel nail polish her fiancé had paid for during a date just weeks prior.

"Sometimes time and other people will show you who you have around you and who they really are," the creator reflected, adding that his ex has since moved in with Steven despite him openly disrespecting her family.
