As bizarre as it sounds, the woman said she is 'scared' of an 8-year-old

Imagine your 8-year-old daughter is simply enjoying a sunny afternoon in your backyard, singing songs and jumping around, and your neighbor tries to sabotage it. This is precisely what happened with Carolina Kaskie (@kaskiefamily) when her neighbor called the cops on their daughter, complaining that "she's scared" of her. Well, as bizarre as it sounds, this is what went down, according to the clip the Kaskies posted on May 10, 2026, which has since garnered over 2.7 million views and over 150,000 likes on Instagram so far.
In the clip, a cop asked permission from Carolina's husband, Albert, to speak to him regarding their 8-year-old daughter, who apparently had been "verbally assaulting" a lady next door. The father informed the officer that their neighbor had called cops on them multiple times for no reason, and it wasn't the first time she had tried to bother them with an unnecessary complaint. "She's flipped off our kids and told them to shut the F up," Albert confessed, sharing how the complainant has always been extremely rude to the kids. The officer then informed him that the neighbor was concerned for her safety because of the kids. However, in reality, the kids were actually the ones who felt unsafe because of the lady. The father confessed that his toddler, of late, had grown reluctant to play in the backyard because she feared their neighbor might call the cops on her. Frustrated, Albert admitted that he got involved in the matter because he didn't like the lady talking to his kids like that.

The parents revealed that the neighbor called the cops on their daughter for singing "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" by Dick Van Dyke and Julie Andrews. While you might think things settled down after this, that couldn't be further from the truth, as the parents sought help from the law, and headed to court to get a restraining order against their neighbor. However, that didn't work out as planned, as they continue to navigate through this mess of a situation.
Although calling the cops on an 8-year-old isn't something you see every day, there's no denying that the majority of people find it extremely difficult to get along with their neighbors. This leads to disputes, such as in the case of the Kaskie family. However, children's behavior isn't the most common reason for disputes between neighbors. In fact, extreme noise (48%) is the most common reason for neighbor disputes, according to a survey by FindLaw.com. Some respondents also blamed children's behavior (21%) for their stressful relationship with the neighbors. While people reported different reasons for disputes, 42% of Americans confessed they've been in one with their neighbors at least once.

Meanwhile, reacting to the Instagram reel, @watersa wrote, "Call the dispatch line and let them know she harasses you and calls the police often — ask that they document each time she calls. I had to do this to my neighbor. When she called later, they already knew her antics. Bad neighbors are hell." Similarly, @lauvlisa shared, "We had a neighbor that would call the cops on my daughters for writing in chalk on my back patio. Mind you, I own my home and have a huge fenced-in backyard. The cops finally threatened to arrest them if they called again. Eventually, they went into foreclosure. I guess they should’ve been focused on paying their mortgage instead of what 4 & 5 year olds are doing in their own backyard."
