This fashion enthusiast showed her viewers an ingenious fashion hack to transform cheaper clothes into high-end couture.
Most of us have desired to wear a designer outfit at least once in our lifetime. However, the pocket pinch to purchase a Chanel or Versace outfit is enormous. But one fashion content creator has a solution for it. Alexis Nido-Russo–who goes by @locaeclectic on TikTok–makes fashion hack videos. She has baffled her followers with an interesting video where she transforms a regular red jacket into something that can be spotted in fashion shows. Russo starts her video by showing the red jacket she picked up from the Zara store because she found it cute. But the jacket seems to have more potential than just being another forgettable piece of clothing.
Holding up the jacket close to the camera, she pointed out some of its flaws that she could fix. "I thought the buttons were really cheap and like, super flimsy. So I bought vintage Chanel buttons and I am going to replace these cheap buttons and I think it's going to elevate the whole look," Russo said while bringing out the designer buttons she was talking about. She started unpacking a box and describing all sorts of buttons she received from a seller. Some had enamel on them and there was even a heart-shaped button. "People are gonna be like, 'Is she wearing Chanel?'" Russo mused. "And I will say, only the buttons."
"Oh, my gosh, these are so cute," Russo exclaimed while showing her viewers the buttons. "They are gonna look so cool on this blazer. I've wanted a Chanel blazer for so long, but they are so expensive. So, it's on my wish list. But in the meantime, I'm gonna have this Zara blazer with Chanel buttons." She told her viewers that the buttons looked very classic to her as she held up some of the best-looking buttons one by one in front of the camera.
"This is the one I was the most excited about because I love hearts and it has a little pearly detail around the hearts," Russo talked about one particular button. "This one is super classic. This one is so cute and I think it's gonna look so nice with the white satin details." Russo wrote in her video caption that she was currently manifesting a Chanel tweed jacket that she could own someday. Her viewers were delighted to check out her hack and claimed that it won't even cost a fortune to wear pieces of clothes that look like they belong on the runways.
@mrs.notintoit wrote, "Yes, post when you get the buttons on. I'm dying to see. Also, how much do postmark Chanel buttons cost?" @katherinapinco quipped, "I have done this with a lot of my blazers. It totally elevates them. Excited to see the results." @lil.liuzi added, "I wanted to buy these, but they have actually sold out like crazy within the Poshmark community, but apparently, they are stamped, counterfeit buttons! There are charm versions too! This is reflected in the more affordable pricing as Chanel buttons are actually really rare and hard to find!"
