Elliot Page posted a dashing shirtless mirror selfie on his Instagram, and his cool demeanor has seen an outpouring of positive messages for the actor. Page, who came out as a transgender man publicly in December 2020, posed in a pair of black sweatpants and donned a chain, flaunting his abs in the photo. “Oh good, my new phone works,” Page captioned the photo cheekily. Fans couldn't help but celebrate the actor. "OMG!! You look so beautiful! So happy for you!!" wrote one person. "Elliot Page thirst trap! I am here for it! You are embodying your confidence and I love it!" wrote another. "Get it bro! Never seen you stand so tall. You have a lot to be proud of," wrote another person, reported TODAY.

The actor underwent gender-affirming surgery after coming out as a transgender man and said it was lifesaving. He discussed the same during an interview with Oprah Winfrey at the time. "The most significant difference is that I’m really able to just exist. I would imagine you’ll understand where I’m coming from — just exist by myself, like be able to sit with myself. I feel a significant difference in my ability to just exist — and not even just day to day, but, moment to moment," he said, reported Vanity Fair. Page's pronouns are he/they. He previously spoke about the joy and comfort of seeing himself in the mirror. “Getting out of the shower and the towel’s around your waist and you’re looking at yourself in the mirror and you’re just like, ‘There I am.’ And I’m not having the moment where I’m panicked,” said Page, reported MSN. “It’s being able to touch my chest and feel comfortable in my body for the — probably the first time.”

After coming out, Page revealed that he knew he was a boy from a very young age. "When I was a little kid, absolutely, 100%, I was a boy," said the actor. "I knew I was a boy when I was a toddler. I was writing fake love letters and signing them 'Jason.' Every little aspect of my life, that is who I was, who I am, and who I knew myself to be," he added. He recalls being constantly reminded that he was not a boy. "I just couldn't understand when I'd be told, 'No, you're not. No, you can't be that when you're older,'" said Page. Now, that he feels at home in his body, Page says the joyous feeling is palpable. "You feel it. Now I'm finally getting myself back to feeling like who I am, and it's so beautiful and extraordinary, and there's a grief to it in a way."

Page is aware of his privileges and his influence as an actor is revered across the world and he wants to wield that power to help others. "I feel so grateful to be at this place in my life, and I want to use the strength I have to help in all the ways that I can. The reason you and I have the privileges we have is because people have sacrificed so much for so, so, so long and put everything on the line." Since coming out, Page said the response has been mixed, as he had expected. "What I was anticipating was a lot of support and love and a massive amount of hatred and transphobia," said Page. "That's essentially what happened."

This is not the first time Page has shared a shirtless photo. He had posted one in May in which he wore men's swim trunks and posed shirtless after undergoing top surgery. “Trans bb’s first swim trunks,” he wrote.
