The never-ending responsibilities of a housewife are grossly underappreciated. Despite them being the engine that keeps the household running, many seem to forget that they are also individuals with their own likes, dislikes and passions. One mom in the '80s decided to use sarcasm as her weapon to convey a funny yet powerful message about this. TikTok user Jordan (@jordielaura5) gave the internet a glimpse into her mom's snarky response to the gifts she received for Christmas by sharing a compilation of her family's home videos from the '80s. "I digitized my family’s home videos from the 80s. Here’s my mom’s soul leaving her body on Christmas day," she captioned the video.

The video shows the family opening their presents on a Christmas morning and the mom getting a stand mixer. "Boy oh boy! I can't wait to use that to make my husband a wonderful meal," quips the housewife and adds, "Just think of the tasty treats I can make my family with this mixer." In the next clip which appeared to be shot during dinner time, the mom sarcastically says, "Isn't this just a wonderful holiday season? I'm so glad that I've been able to cook and clean and just do things like a regular housewife should!" She had a snarky way of joking about housewives getting boring gifts and no rest on holidays and her husband adds to the fun by joking, "A woman's work is never done."

In another clip featuring the kids frantically screaming, the humorous mom says that the family was sitting down to a wonderful 'relaxing' meal 'as usual,' when it clearly was not the case. She then comments that the dinner had become peaceful because "the children were gone." Opening another gift which was a mug, the mom ironically exclaims, "Look! It's a spill-safe mug. This is for when I leave my mug in the car at the Holiday Inn and the coffee is all crusty and dry in there." Her passive-aggressive remarks got people bursting with laughter.

@mhagerslp11 commented, "Your mom began TikTok and didn’t even know it. She’s so honest and hilarious." @queenofteacups wrote, "If it's not an item specifically requested by them, it's not a gift for them it's a gift for the person who gave it." @mbutler806 pointed out, "I actually love this because sometimes our moms have rose-colored glasses about how things are with kids." Jordan posted a 'Part 2' video of her mother's timeless sarcasm a few days later. In the footage, the tired mom comments on how she was opening the 'presents from the kids' (Leslie and Jordan), aka the presents she sources and bought herself.

Thanking the kids and faking surprise about how they knew she wanted it, the mom kept her funny roasts coming. The video from the '80s shows more clips of the chaotic yet wholesome family with the mom not thinking twice before responding with sarcasm. "I love how she's so sarcastic but when she looks at her kids her eyes and smile light up. Motherhood in a nutshell," commented @tiffany.costa.writes
