People can make honest mistakes, but some people refuse to admit it even when they're wrong. u/Billiam201 was proud of the effort and time his wife put into their immaculate garden. However, a group of people mistook it for a community park, and one of their babies sat on a flower bed. When the author got home, he asked them to leave, but instead of apologizing, one of the women gave him a "snotty" reply and left. He thought that was the end of it, but three hours later, the husband came back with a ridiculous question. The post was shared on September 9, 2026, and it has had 11,000 upvotes and 1,300 comments.
Garden of dreams
The author explained why people would mistake his garden for a park. Their house was on one side of their lot, while the other side had "6000 square feet of flower beds, a 15x25 fenced garden, a massive flowering imperial cherry tree, wrought-iron arches with climbing trumpet vines, hummingbird misters, bird baths, and the whole bit." It was fenced and even had two gates to show it was private property.
But one day when he got home from work, he noticed a baby playing in one of the flower beds. He assumed his wife had company but did not recognize the two cars in the driveway. Then he noticed four people sitting under his pergola with strollers. "I hadn't noticed until they had to move my motorcycle to get their strollers up to and through the gate," he explained.
Jealous of his 'private park'
The author went up to them to ask who they were and said that they were on his property. He expected them to acknowledge their mistake, but one of the entitled women said they live on the block now, so they had every right to use the "park." Once again, he explained that it was his garden. The woman then responded that just because he lived next to it does not make it his.
Frustrated with the group, he gave them a few minutes to leave before calling the police. Thankfully, they did, and he put a padlock on the gate. Three hours later, one of the husbands came knocking on his door. He asked him for the "park hours." Once more, the author had to explain it was his private property, but he didn't budge and told him "it wasn't fair that [he] had a private park, and [he'd] be hearing from his lawyer."
Property line wars
Neighbor disputes are common, especially regarding property lines. The family just couldn't believe the size of the man's property and refused to accept his word. An American Survey Center report showed that 19% of neighborhood disputes were due to property lines, neighboring land, construction, and fences. A FindLaw survey also reported that 17% of disputes between neighbors were because they were unsure about where one's property line began and where it ended. This was the same scenario between the man and the family. They had no idea where his property lines were but were ready to turn his private garden into their neighborhood park.

Netizens couldn't believe how entitled the group was acting even after being told they were on private property. u/DonTing2000 wrote, "What is wrong with people these days?!
