Some of the family has fun and quirky traditions that they continue to follow for generations. It is no different with the family of Dena Lewis– who goes by @onemileranch on Instagram. The mom of three, who usually uploads videos on her countryside life in Alberta, Canada, shared a clip of how her family follows a sweet tradition. It has become sort of a core memory for Lewis every time she visits her parents and brothers.

"The Massey tradition lives on and it might be my favorite thing ever. My mom, dad and brother, racing us as well when I leave after an amazing family holiday!" the video caption explained. The brief video captured her elderly mom, dad and her brother running after the car she rides away in. After spending some holidays at their place, her family has this special way of bidding her farewell when it is time for Lewis to return to her home. We can see her mother struggling to keep up the pace with the speeding car while waving goodbye, but she still makes sure to participate.

Her father picks some speed momentarily to catch up with the car, smiling and waving her goodbye, but he ultimately stops running at one point to catch his breath. The one who actually manages to race after Lewis' car for the longest distance is her brother. Needless to say, Lewis' loving family makes sure to create wholesome memories for her each time she visits. The Instagram audience of Lewis reacted joyfully to this adorable family tradition and even shared a bunch of their own in the comments. Some even pointed out that her brother was skilled enough to sprint without tripping while wearing flip-flops.

@friend_of_bears shared, "My grandma, who is 93, still does this. She doesn't run, but she stands outside and waves until out of sight. She is the sweetest soul I know. She has never said a mean thing about anyone. She is where all the love, peace, acceptance and understanding come from in my family." @sunsetsareprettyy commented, "The last time I saw my dad, I was leaving for a road trip and he was running after my car with the family dog waving and smiling. I'll treasure the memory forever." @pam.runkle wrote, "My mum and dad are gone now, but they used to stand at the end of their driveway waving as my family drove down the road and around the corner. It sure makes me miss them."

@giselle_dekel added, "My grandfather would stand on the road waving his handkerchief until we were out of sight." In a follow-up video, Lewis showed how she is greeted every time she arrives at her home. Just like her parents and brother bidding her a hearty farewell, the family's dog starts sprinting along with their car as soon as they arrive at their countryside farmhouse that is spread over miles. The Bernese mountain dog happily wags his tail and continues to run with their car till it stops, creating yet another moment of joy for the Lewis family.
