Troll said Formula One star’s wife was 'nothing' without him. Her response humbled him real quick

Alexandra Leclerc (@alexandramalenaleclerc), the wife of Formula 1 driver Charles Leclerc, shared pictures on Instagram on May 2. Within hours, her post went viral, with over 701,700 likes on her page. While her fans and well-wishers showered Mrs. Leclerc with love and appreciation, a particular remark caught her attention. Well, the troll who later deleted their comment belittled her by saying she was nothing without her husband. Alexandra, however, refused to let the insult slide and hit back at the troll with a humbling response that shut him down.

The disrespectful remark

The troll, who goes by @equentench.priv on Instagram, attacked Alexandra, saying, "You are nothing without Leclerc," according to a Pulse Sports report. But unlike most, Mrs. Leclerc, who married the F1 driver on February 28 in Monaco, refused to ignore the disrespect. In fact, she returned to her page and shared a long comment, addressing the person directly. Alexandra wrote, "Actually, without my husband, I’m a normal girl, with my normal hobbies, my normal interests, and my normal passions, who tries to be as kind as she can." She also confessed she hasn't changed a bit after becoming Charles' wife. "...and there’s nothing wrong with that. That's probably what you are, too, and that’s great," Alexandra added.

Moreover, the 24-year-old content creator, who's known for her fashion content, explained how not everyone is meant to be professionally acclaimed, and that doesn't take away our value. "Who you are as a person, how you treat others, and what you choose to do with your free time do so! Reflect," she said. Shocked by her response, the troll deleted their comment and also disabled their profile.

Society's double-edged sword

A survey by "The League," a dating site, found that a majority (92%) of respondents said they would willingly date someone who earns more. In fact, 30% refused to date someone who isn't ambitious about their career. It means both men and women prefer highly career-driven partners, but women endure more judgments for it. Moreover, the survey revealed that nearly half of women (48%) feel they are judged for being too ambitious, which is concerning considering how few men feel the same (13%). Ironically, society judges women for both being career-driven and for being known for their partner's achievements. This is what Alexandra Leclerc experienced, but thankfully, her savage response shut down her troll in an instant.

Meanwhile, people loved how Alexandra dealt with the troll. Praising her, @spam67471 commented, "I love how you are still kind even though so many people are hating on you." Similarly, @retiredbuddy shared, "Kill them with kindness, diva. Don't let them affect you and your relationship. You're gonna be blessed more. God will bless you and lift you more in front of people who don't want you to win and people who pull you down. You're strong and kind."
