Renowned Austrian composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart has been credited with over 600 works in his lifetime. But he was creating melodies from an early age and researchers from a library in Germany have discovered a piece of music composed by Mozart that was previously unknown to the world. According to My Modern Met, the newly discovered composition dates back to the mid to late 1760s when Mozart was in his early teens. The legendary composer was born in 1756 and he displayed his talent for composing from an early age under the tutelage of his father, Leopold.

Researchers discovered this early work of Mozart at the Leipzig Music Library while they were compiling the latest edition of the Köchel Catalogue. The catalog consists of an extensive archive of Mozart's musical compositions. The newly discovered composition consists of seven miniature movements for a string trio lasting about 12 minutes. The music library referred to the composition as "Ganz kleine Nachtmusik," which translates to “Very little night music.” However, it is clarified that the manuscript was not written by Mozart himself and is instead a copy of the original piece that dates back to about 1780.

The composition is written in dark brown ink on medium-white handmade paper and the parts of the manuscripts are individually bound. "It is preserved in a single source, in which the attribution of the author suggests that the work was written before Mozart’s first trip to Italy which took place in December 1769 when the child prodigy was just 13 years old," stated Köchel Catalogue. To celebrate the latest discovery, the Ganz kleine Nachtmusik was performed by a string trio in Salzburg, Germany, where the new Köchel Catalogue was unveiled. The "Moonlight Sonata" composer has continued to inspire many artists through centuries and generations.

In recent times, Mozart's works have been a vital part of the lessons that classical musicians get and just like Mozart, there is a 7-year-old who has stunned the world with his piano performances. Back when Alberto Catuccia Cingolan was five years old, he appeared at the 10th International Musical Competition in Penne, located in the Abruzzo region of Italy. He left the audience speechless with his rendition of Piano Sonata No.16 in C major by Mozart. Cingolan's video was uploaded on YouTube where it was viewed over 40,000 times.

The youngster comes from a musical family with a singing instructor mother and he has been practicing his skills on piano since he was only three years old. Even though he could not read the sheet music notes initially and has recently learned how to read them, he has a natural ability to identify and recreate any musical note. Ever since Cingolan discovered his skills on piano, he has participated in numerous music competitions across the country where he was accompanied by his parents. His parents continue to record some of his best performances and upload them on a YouTube channel to reach a wider audience. Cingolan just might start composing his own pieces soon enough like Mozart who started composing at the age of five.
