'This is a story of boy meets girl. The boy grew up believing that he'd never truly be happy till the day he met the one,' the narrator says in the trailer.
It is said that women have dreamed of having fairytale weddings ever since they were little girls and as a matter of fact, there might be some truth to it. Some of us are even guilty of practicing our 'sweet soft bridal smile' while our beau kneels down on one knee, whips out a shiny ring and puts it right in front of our faces. Moreover, wedding proposals are quite literally the foundation of a perfect wedding. They don't have to be expensive or extravagant but the mere thought of it happening to you is something that you will cherish forever. Many women anticipate the day that the man of their dreams proposes to them and they hope that it will be perfect in every way possible. With that thought in mind, if your boyfriend made a whole movie trailer about you and them as a part of the 'project proposal', it would definitely make your day, wouldn't it?
Well, it happened to a lady who initially went to a movie theatre with her fiancé with the hopes of watching a regular movie. Little did she know, that today was the day she would be proposed to in one of the sweetest ways ever. The video was shared on Reddit's most wholesome page r/MadeMeSmile. The clip or should I say, the movie trailer, begins with some piano music in the background with the narrator saying: "This is a story of boy meets girl. The boy grew up believing that he'd never truly be happy till the day he met the one. The girl had a different plan in mind but let's start from the beginning." The video then cuts to a montage of memories of both of them with some upbeat music and at the end, the man of the hour steps in when the lights are turned on.
He goes to her, and kneels down on one knee before uttering the words, "Will you marry me?" and the over-delighted bride springs up for a sweet kiss and says, "Oh my god, yes." The crowd cheers in celebration for the happy couple who just made a mini-movie debut. "DAMN it, man, you're awesome, and I'm not crying-you're crying! Lol", commented u/jackie4chan27. "I'm tearing up that is so cool, wishing the best to you guys," wrote u/sleep_dragons.
Lee Loechler had a similar idea when proposing to high school sweetheart, Sthuthi David. He animated themselves into her favorite movie, "Sleeping Beauty," over six months and proposed to her at a cinema. "Sthuthi knew a proposal was coming, so I had to be sneaky," Loechler told HuffPost. "It was a proud moment when, a few days later, Sthuthi called and invited me to her own surprise proposal."
In his grand proposal, Loechler tweaked the classic movie to include a prince and princess that looked like himself and David toward the end of the film. David's bewildered look can be seen in the audience during the film as she attempts to understand why the characters' features have changed. W
ith the help of Australia-based illustrator Kayla Coombs, Loechler was able to make it appear as though the prince version of himself was tossing the ring box to him. “The only thing better than seeing the smartest person I know completely dumbfounded was knowing we’d get to live happily ever after together,” Loechler said in a YouTube video which has now garnered over 7.6 million views.
“When she said ‘yes’ and the room erupted as ‘Once Upon A Dream’ roared to life amidst shots of celebrating fairies and fireworks, it was the biggest rush!” he said. Loechler even added an alternate ending titled “Sthuthi says no" which featured a montage of tearful dwarfs and made David and the audience giggle. But, all in all, it was one of the most authentic marriage proposals ever and we couldn't be any happier for them both!
