A grown woman refusing to clear her bill gets a much-needed reality check from those around her.
People with a sense of entitlement are very likely to create conflict and behave inappropriately. u/Lifeneedslubricant recently took to Reddit after she met somebody her age acting entitled in the department store who created a problem for the employee and the other customers. "I just witnessed, quite possibly, the most entitled interaction of my life," the woman writes in the post. She then goes on to say that she stumbled upon a woman at the local convenience store when she was having a conversation with the owner’s daughter.
"In walks this woman, probably around my age, and she begins gathering items and dumping them on the counter, completely disregarding other customers who were already at it," she recounted. "This goes on for a few minutes and then she goes to pay." The clerk who was serving somebody else when the woman interrupted was then approached by her who said, "My items are on the counter so you shouldn’t be serving anyone else as I’m clearly waiting to be served." The other customer who the cashier was helping, requested the woman to wait for a few more minutes, which led to more "huffing and puffing," the woman writes in her post.
The clerk then started ringing her items and informed her that the total was over $30. She then told him that she would only give $25 because that’s all she had. The clerk said that he would be happy to take "$25 providing she removes sufficient items to ensure it covers her bill." Needless to say, the woman was infuriated by his response and said, "I need everything. You can’t deprive me of my needs. Who do you think you are? I'm calling my husband." The quick-witted cashier quickly replied, "Make sure he brings his wallet!" she said. "Out comes her phone and she’s scrolling furiously whilst repeating, ‘Just wait until he gets here,'" the post read.
The shopper then gets her husband on the speakerphone and goes on to say, "Baby, I’m at this store, and the clerk is holding me and two other females hostage. You need to come and rescue us." Thankfully the husband didn't fall for her shenanigans and replied, "You can’t really be held hostage and be allowed to use your phone," he told her. "So either you didn’t have enough money, or you’re trying to buy alcohol without [an] ID."
After hearing the whole thing, her husband asked her to leave the chips, candy, and soda behind which they did not need as they had more than enough of it in the house. After hearing his response, the woman went on to stamp her foot again and hung up. She then had no other choice but to ask the cashier to remove the items so that her money would cover the bill. Many took to the post to talk about the husband's response. "I love her husband. Sounds like he's over her sh#t but still kind about it," writes u/SnooBunnies7461. While u/NutAli commented, "The police probably already know her and have banned her from calling them."
