How a disabled vet cleverly handled a parking dispute with a 'Karen'.
Rude individuals seem to pop up everywhere, often directing their aggression at others for no valid reason. From the young to the elderly—even wheelchair-bound veterans—no one is immune to crossing paths with entitled behavior. A Reddit user, u/carlower1, shared a frustrating encounter with a woman who treated a public parking lot as if it were her personal property. She even yelled at the user without cause. However, the Redditor devised the perfect petty revenge to deal with her unpleasant behavior.
One particular story came from a 53-year-old disabled veteran who shared her experience visiting a local VA hospital to pick up medications. “This last Monday, I realized that I was out of some meds and hadn’t received the refills yet, so I ran to the VA hospital pharmacy to get enough to tide me over. Since my local VA hospital is huge, I always use my mobility scooter because there’s no way I can physically navigate the parking lot,” she explained in her post.
She likened the hospital area to a labyrinth as she described the rest of her journey. "After I completed my transactions and checked in with a couple of my health providers, I scooted myself out the doors to load up my scooter in my vehicle and get the heck out of Dodge. Now with this being a Monday, everyone and their dog is trying to find parking to get into the building, so cars are driving around looking for opening spots to park," she continued.
As she was heading past vehicles, one of the rides, pulled slightly ahead of the disabled vet to block her way and she couldn't move ahead any further. A woman leaned out of her car window to yell at the veteran, accusing her of "cutting in line." The other woman impolitely claimed that she was trying to take a parking spot first as she arrived before the disabled vet.
She started creating enough ruckus to make another guy in the car next to the vet stared at them in absolute disbelief and was almost about to ditch his vehicle to help the disabled woman. "I shake my head and back my scooter up to go a different way to get to my vehicle. She passes me as I reach my truck and realizes that I'm loading up the scooter so I can leave. Well, she decides she's going to take my spot," she continued the post and had an interesting twist coming up for the readers at the end.
"I nod at the guy who wanted to help me, hop in my truck and back out of the parking space in a way that blocks the woman and gives easy access to the other guy. I did make sure to use all 5 fingers when I smiled and waved at her as I drove away," the vet concluded. Reddit users were left amused at the whole turn of events and most of them agreed that the woman deserved what she got. u/pm_me_ur_fit wrote: "The best part is you didn't have to sit in your car and wait forever like many parking lot revenge stories. Instant revenge."
u/b0radb0rad quipped: "I read these stories and wish I could go and smack my past self sometimes. The amount of effort and energy it takes to be angry is so much greater than to just, not be." u/bonnieflash commented: "Sometimes the good guys win." It looks like the nice folks actually won the parking lot battle over an entitled woman this time around and the rude lady hopefully learned her lesson.
