Many managers at a workplace have a reputation for not caring for the people working for them. They often work for the organization's profits even if it means creating toxic work environments for employees. Reddit user u/howls_moving-castle shared a shocking incident where they overheard their bosses complain about each employee who was leaving on time from the office. The fact that managers are angry about employees leaving on time is strange, but this is the reality of many corporate offices.

The employee wrote, “I accidentally walked in on all the managers at my job discussing us (the workers) after we had just finished an insanely busy event that so many of us were working our a**** off to get done on time.” They shared that one manager was upset with one of their co-workers because they left at the scheduled time. They then spoke about this worker that the manager mentioned as an “extremely nice person” and during the weekend, they worked 10-14 hours to help do some set-up. Moreover, the employee was the one who asked this co-worker to leave the office as soon as their shift got over because people always found them and asked them to do more work.

The employee then talked about how one of the managers is also upset with them for the same reason. “I always leave exactly when I’m scheduled to and very rarely I will come in earlier/stay later (if I haven’t had many hours and I want more money lmao),” they wrote. The employee also overheard one manager say that one worker waited till the last half hour to take their half-hour break. They were quite upset about why that was even a problem because that was their unpaid break.

“I don’t get it, man. We’re not doing any kind of life-saving work. It’s not our problem that you refuse to hire more people so we’re properly staffed,” the employee expressed. They were quite shocked that the managers were talking about these things when they just pulled off a successful event. The employee ended the post by saying, “I refuse to let some crappy minimum wage job stress me out. I’ll be so happy to finally get some sleep this weekend.”

People in the comments were also upset with this absurd conversation between the managers. u/sufficient-meet6127 commented, “They want free work and are upset that the workers don’t want to give it to them.” u/Nollekowitsch wrote, “My former boss was like that. When I was close to quitting I clocked in at 6:00 and clocked out at 14:30. And he would complain about me leaving early and threatening to go to his boss and report me. Told him to go ahead as my work time is 6-14:30 and there's nothing they can do."

u/okmanufacturer767 shared, “You’re right about leaving on time and all of that. Except maybe the unpaid 30-minute break. In my USA state, the unpaid 30-minute break, by law, has to be in the middle of the shift. It’s the law.” u/Nollekowitsch said, “My former boss was like that.
