It can be very difficult to leave a job, especially when there is no backup plan. However, some jobs affect an individual so much that they end up taking a leap of faith, hoping for the best. Reddit user u/TheHumanMiata shared their own inspiring story on the platform. The post is titled, "I did it." The individual begins by saying that they finally quit. What helped them to come to the decision was seeing other posts on the platform. Reading other posts, they found the courage to send in their resignation while being confident that their impressive resume would help them land another job. They describe their job to be a "living corpse of a company."

The individual then states how working conditions deteriorated so fast, to the point where it felt like the owners were doing it deliberately. Employee morale was alarmingly low. The employee talks about how they were put on a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) just because they talked about their favorite tequila to their "immediate supervisor." What is funny about the situation is that it was the supervisor who initiated the conversation and then reported the individual to the owners. Hours were also cut. They write, "I was told that if I wanted to keep my job, I had to pick between being friendly or being employed." In a fortunate turn of events, the individual received a job offer just 4 hours after resigning.

The new offer proved to be a massive improvement and the individual stated they were doing much more "meaningful work." They were also able to match the salary from the previous company while increasing paid time off. The new company also had a much more wholesome working environment as they had pets in the office. They were informed that they could work flexibly so long as they were present from 3 to 4 PM, which was when critical work came in. Owing to summer, the company also closed early at 3 PM on Mondays and Fridays. In addition to all these perks, the new place had a gym and offered full coverage for dental and vision with different payment options.

The individual ends the post by saying that it was all a gut instinct. They also mention how the work that they were doing would create a direct impact on others and save lives. They write, "I hope all of you find some good luck too. We all deserve better. Never give up!" Users on the platform loved the empowering story and shared their support in the comments section.

u/waitingonawait commented, "You are incredibly fortunate and that makes me happy. Nice to read stories like this from time to time instead of the usual rage-inducing posts that don't end so nicely. Better than hearing about your pay is hearing how much more purpose this job seems to be giving you." This story serves as a testament to many individuals who feel stuck in their lives. Sometimes, all it takes is a leap of faith and some planning to make a drastic change.
