The hospital expects its employees to not take a single day off in order to make it on the 'perfect attendance' chart with a sticker.

Every organization is entitled to provide leaves and incentives to support and enhance the working relationship an employee has with the company. However, many companies offer the same just for the sake of it and turn into manipulative employers. Employees are saying 'no' to such toxic workplaces and calling them out on the internet for a worthy cause. u/yetisa shared their experience of a similar incident, where they called out their workplace for indirectly shaming employees who take leaves and days off.

The hospital employee mentions that the management has put up an attendance chart on the walls of their hospital lab to get an idea of the leaves taken by the employees. The chart had the attendance dates backtracking all months of the year. U/yetisa then mentions, “If you didn’t have any call-offs for that month, you get a fun sticker! If you called off for any reason (gave birth, mother died, COVID, etc.) you get a red cross for the month.” The post further explained that those who had “perfect” attendance for an entire year, received a free meal in their cafeteria.

Any employee would know that achieving this is next to impossible. The attendance system was poorly executed, which led the employee to caption their post, “What in the kindergarten bulls**t is this?” The management was trying to shame employees and force them to work by calling them out for taking valid leaves. The employee further said, “The only people with ‘perfect attendance’ so far are the couriers that work one day a week and the manager herself, who can schedule herself off whenever she wants.” Clearly, this is injustice against the employees who are led to believe that they’re not good enough simply because they take leaves they are very much entitled to.

The user also shared an image of the attendance chart in the comments section. The chart vividly exhibited the various names and heap loads of different stickers indicating the employees’ irregular attendance. U/yetisa's post received over 6k upvotes and fellow users also pitched in to voice the cruel working conditions they face. Others were no strangers to toxic workplaces and were on board with the idea of comparing the management to that of a kindergarten. u/Gold-Position-8265 said, “Honestly, you should write it in colored marker and try to make it seem like a kindergarten wrote it too with backward letters and misspellings.”

Other commenters suggested ways to make the chart more “creative” by marking an ‘X’ on days they attended to express their disagreement with the harsh system. u/robofink said, “Over the next month, take days off so you create a sad clown face with your absences on the calendar.” Many even suggested using crayons to destroy the chart. u/paegus said, “It looks like a non-laminated paper printout so crayons are the way to go. Multiple colors too. Maybe a stick figure of your mum crying?”
