Elephants take turns to welcome their favorite human as she returns after a long journey

Elephants are gentle giants, known for their strong social bonds and affectionate nature. In a heartwarming TikTok post by @saveelephantfoundation, the foundation’s founder, Lek Chailert, is seen reuniting with a group of elephants after being away for several days. Their excitement upon seeing her is unmistakable. "Every time I embark on a work journey to different areas away from the Park, distancing myself from the elephants for several days, their joyous welcome upon my return is truly heartwarming," she writes. 

"No matter which corner of the world I find myself in, their absence is keenly felt by me, for these magnificent creatures are more than companions – they are my family, exuding positive energy that fuels my passion," she added in the caption. In the video, a herd of elephants can be seen approaching her. The elephants look very happy and cannot stop trumpeting and flapping their ears. Soon, Chailert is surrounded by them.

She crawls under one elephant and embraces it. "They inspire me to tirelessly advocate for their well-being, ensuring they lead happy and secure lives. Much like humans, elephants experience love and the pangs of separation. Let's join forces to shield them from abuse, becoming their voice for protection and advocating for a life of dignity," she wrote in the caption.

Viewers flooded the comments, celebrating the close bond Chailert shares with the elephants. "Elephants rapidly flap their ears when greeting or bonding with other elephants. "They’ve taken her in as one of their own," @MacCrae added. "They really said, 'Where have you been? No note, bed empty, you could've died,'" commented @Yeo. "I heard they think humans are cute like how we view dogs so they must have felt like they lost their pet," @EllieFielding added.

Elephants are not only adorable but are also incredibly sensitive and intelligent, often understanding human intentions. In another heartwarming video, uploaded by u/PxN13 on Reddit, a little girl was captured helping out a baby elephant who was stuck on the side of a road. In the video, the baby elephant seems to be struggling to get out of mud collected on the side of the road. However, a young girl soon steps in and helps the elephant by guiding him to lift one leg and then the other to get out. After a bit of struggle, the elephant finally was able to get out of the mud with the help of the girl. The elephant looked genuinely happy and walked directly towards the girl after successfully getting out of the mud. It then lifted its trunk and it looked like he was thanking the little girl for her kind gesture. The video resonated with many and went viral on Reddit within hours of posting. The video currently has more than 1.3k likes and more than 45k upvotes.
