Elderly woman brings treats for neighbor's kids and asks them to visit her often for wholesome reason

Holidays are the best time for families to come together and enjoy each other's company. Unfortunately, everyone does not have the privilege to spend this time with their family. It could be for a variety of reasons, ranging from distance to quarrels. This is especially hard for old folks, as evident in this video uploaded by @aubzroset. In this video, an old woman is seen going to her neighbor's house bearing gifts to request a visit. She shares how she misses the company of children being a grandmother herself and therefore requests the neighbors' kids to give her company whenever they can. The earnestness in her voice is enough to make anybody emotional.

The video first appeared on YouTube, uploaded by ViralHog. They did not mention who gave them the video but revealed the location to be Fargo, North Dakota, USA. It occurred on Halloween and therefore the daughter thought that the grandma was trick-or-treating. In the caption they gave the sender's message, which was, "Our elderly neighbor dropped off some gifts for our kids in the hopes that they would visit her more often. She is missing her own children and grandchildren."

The video begins with a sweet request from the woman: "I'd like to be a grandma." She adorably asks the child to come visit her sometime and give her some company. It is evident that the neighborhood is not closely knit, as the daughter had difficulty identifying the woman. The woman said, "I live next, over here. Remember? You used to come by." The girl's brother came out and immediately identified her in a matter of seconds. The daughter was a bit taken aback, as she wasn't expecting someone of the woman's age to come for trick-or-treating.

The woman immediately told her that she was not there for that. She added, "Well, I am not going trick-or-treating. I'm bringing you..." Thereafter, she pulled out candies and other treats. The boy was shocked and exclaimed, "What?" Both the siblings were extremely grateful for this gesture. The woman emotionally repeated her request: "I just want you to come and see me once in a while." Though it was heartening that the woman had taken it upon herself to socialize, it was a bit sad to realize that at this age she was asking for company. She explained how her kids are big and therefore cannot receive her 'grandma love.' She had so much love to give, but nobody was around to shower. The woman talked with the father on Telecom and went her way, making a place in the hearts of her neighbors with the sweet gesture.

The comments section was emotional seeing the whole thing unfold. @sherrilynn56 wants to make the woman a part of her family and wrote, "Get the adoption papers in order! I’d adopt her as a grandma in an instant! How sweet!" @utallarita56 lamented the present condition of the society and commented, "Yes, I feel like I can relate to this woman. It’s so sad. Many years ago family used to be so important. Neighbors were important not anymore. So sad."
