'He was so sweet and I could, like, see the memories flash through his eyeballs,' the mom said of the unforgettable interaction with the stranger.
Receiving words of encouragement from someone while navigating motherhood, especially as a new mom, can mean a lot. Some people's words can help parents see the bright side of having a new baby, even though the experience can be exhausting. One such stranger's words gave a mom much-needed encouragement and left her in tears. The mom felt that this was the vibe she would like to embrace as she explores motherhood. The woman, Steph Morrison (who goes by @_stephmorrison_ on TikTok), took to the platform to share the incident with the internet.
"The sweetest thing just happened. I was just finishing my walk and you know we were just pulling down our street," Morrison began. "Walking down our street and an old man stopped so we could walk by." The woman had a double-wide stroller that took up a lot of space. "And he goes, 'Wow, You are going to have a lot of fun.' I don't know why I am getting so emotional while telling you now," the woman shared as she broke down a little. "But most people say like, 'Oh, you have your hands full' and it's like my biggest pet peeve," the mom revealed.
"But he was so sweet and I could, like, see the memories flash through his eyeballs," the woman explained. "He said to me that you are going to have a lot of fun, like dang, like that's the type of vibe and energy I am going to bring to motherhood. I was having a great time with the kids already," Morrison expressed. "So, I don't know why I am crying while telling you this. But if you are a mother out there, I hope you have a lot of fun too, because why not." She posted the video with the caption, "I never would have guessed what the man would say, nor did I ever predict tears would roll down my face like they did. Thankful for this sweet glimmer from God." The video received more than 860k views and over 141k likes.
People took to the comments section of the video to express their thoughts on the incident as well as to share their own experiences. @rachelstelzer wrote, "An older man in the grocery store stopped me when my son was eight months old and said, 'Young enough to still talk to the angels, put in a good word for me!'" @happyy_gilmoree commented, "My only son is seven months old. I can’t have any more kids due to life-threatening complications at birth. The other day, a man said to me, 'He gets to have you all to himself, isn’t that so special?' I cried."
@allimmorgan remarked, "We were in a hotel elevator a few weeks ago with our 2.5 wild and adorable daughter and an older gentleman said, 'Enjoy every second. We’re in town visiting ours in law school this weekend. Enjoy all of it' and he started tearing up." @taylorduplantis6 shared, "Had a similar experience. Met an older lady in the hobby lobby. She asked to see my son and started crying. She said, 'Wow, he is beautiful! You’re about to have some of the best times of your life.'" @alyssadringman expressed, "Before you know it, they wake up without you and make their own breakfast and you drink your coffee hot. Love the chaos while you’re in it."
